Using David’s DVC Rentals for Aulani Honeymoon

Hello! My fiancé and I are looking to book our honeymoon at Aulani in Summer 2027

I’ve booked WDW trips before either through a travel agent through the WDW website but have never booked a stay at Aulani and have never used David’s DVC Rentals before. I’d like to use it to book our honeymoon stay to help save some money.

My question is, if we use David’s to book our room, how does that work when we go to put our reservations for dining or other excursions on the Aulani app/website? Does using someone else’s DVC points mess anything up when we put our booking confirmation number into the app?

No, once someone picks up your request and books the reservation for you and you pay for it, David's will send you a reservation number. You will enter that into your MDE account and then you will be able to make reservations for dining/activities when the normal window opens. You won't be able to book with David's until 11 months prior to the date you wish to vacation, at the earliest. It's not guaranteed, they have to have an Aulani owner with the needed number of points to book the room type you want for the # of nights you want at Aulani (at 11 months out). Also, your chosen room type has to be available (some room types can be difficult to book without walking and a rental service won't do that, not sure if that applies to any Aulani room types). At 7 months, any owner with non restricted points can book there. Remember that this type of reservation is non refundable unless you purchase insurance. It's not like calling Disney or a travel agent and booking a room. There is no guarantee you will get what you want, it will depend on owners wanting to rent points and how many you need.

Not sure if you have ever used Davids but we used them for 4 separate trips (all WDW) before we bought DVC and they were fantastic, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them even for something as important as a honeymoon.
