Using Canadian Credit Cards in the US

So, I was reading an old old thread from like 2010, and instead of bringing back that thread I thought I would start a new one....

We plan on driving down for our Disney trip and we want to order some groceries from either Vons or Albertsons (which ever deliver?) to have delivered to the hotel. Are we able to order online with our Canadian credit card? I know we would used delivery address as the hotel, but will our card work?
Is there a trick to making it work?



Anyone from Canada ordered groceries before. We will have a car obviously, but do not want to go out of our way to have a few things at the hotel (water, dt. coke, granola bars, cereal, etc). Not at all interested in making a trip to the store



Thoughts? Suggestions? Tips?

Stores accepting Canadian credit cards for delivery into the US is hit and miss. No real guarantee who will allow it and who won't. Also check if places accept PayPal as that tends to work better across the border.

We use GardenGrocer.com when we go. Prices are about the same as in a grocery store and we've never had a problem billing.

If you're really in a bind, try using Entropay at https://www.entropay.com/. They will give you a pre-paid virtual US Visa card that works for US purchases online.

We used wegoshop.com for WDW delivery and had a great experience. I believe if you go to the site you can search for a service at DL as well. Each local area is individually owned.

No, Orlando. I assumed (incorrectly) that you were going to WDW. Sorry, can't help you with Anaheim.

Depending on where you are staying there are some small convince stores close by and Vons and Target is not to far you can take a cab there probaly about the same as getting it delivered. We have been 2 times to DL and its not to bad. We have not had any issues with most stores taking a Canadian CC just online we have had issues.
