Using cabs at park closing

As someone who is almost never in the park at closing time either by design or by general exhaustion; is a cab a much quicker choice to exit a park at closing time or do they tend to get tied up in the bus/car traffic exiting the park anyway?

I usually seek out alternative places to watch night time entertainment or design the transportation logistics so that the mass exodus is not something I usually deal with, but on this upcoming trip we'll have a few instances where we'll be in the park for nighttime entertainment.

I'm generally not a patient person with that kind of stuff, especially on vacation, and don't do well in Heavy crowds. I don't mind putting up an extra $20-$30 not to have to wait for something transportation related on vacation.

Our experience with using a cab at park closing has been pretty positive. They are usually lined up and you just jump in. While everyone else is still trying to get to their car you're already on your way !

does not work at MK as you either need to walk to Contemp or monorail/ferry to the TTC. no taxi/uber at the gate.

I'm a fan of the cab and uber while in disney. Both in the AM and at the end of the day. I usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for a bus. IMHO it's worth the $100 we might spend on a trip. When you average $750 to $1000 a day on a trip, what's another $30?

And keep in mind that, when leaving Epcot, you have a couple of options depending on where you are in the park. If you are in Future World, head out the main entrance toward the busses and get a cab there. But, if you are in World Showcase, especially if you are toward the back of World Showcase, it may be easier to leave via the International Gateway, walk over to the Beach Club, and get a cab from there.
