What do you use to stick buttons? I've got loads of lovely things in my monthly swap packs but I want to make sure they don't fall off. Also, how do you get the loops off buttons with loops on the back? Preferably a way that doesn't involve me buying yet another "essential" scrapping tool :rotfl:

I just use glue dots to attach my buttons. as for removing the shank of the button, I think you can get a shank remover thingie (technical term of course :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) at a sewing store perhaps? good luck. maggie

I also use glue dots...

As for the shank... That is DH's responsiblity to get it off and NOT ruin my button! LOL

I use wire cutters to remove button shanks and Glue Dots or Zots (just a different brand) to stick them down.

My Dh is not much of a handyman, but we do have a toolbox which used to be my dad's. so i'll hunt through that.

Thanks everyone!

another one for glue dots!
Years ago, I was in the flower arranging craze and had some floristry wire cutters that I now use for getting the shank off the back of buttons - altho' last night I removed quite a few and they were really tough and flew all over my scrap room, still finding them now:eek:

If you don't find wire cutters right away, check again with your needle nose pliers. I have one that has a wire cutter in by the joint - so it's dual purpose...but when you first look at it you wouldn't know that. Just a thought...

There is a buttonshank remover thing that runs about 5 bucks over here so I don't know what that would translate to your currency. I use glue dots or that tacky tape stuff that will hold down anything depending on the shape of the button that I am using.
