Using boat transportation

Was wondering if this is available to anyone staying at a Disney resort or only for those staying at a resort that has boat access. Am asking b/c we are staying at Carribean but will be going to BBQ at Wilderness and was thinking of going to MK during day, taking boat to Wilderness for BBQ, then taking boat back to MK to see fireworks before taking bus back to Carribean. Does that sound possible?

It's available to anyone who gets themselves to the boat dock regardless of where they are staying (Disney, offsite, local)

What you want to do is totally possible.

I use the boat transporation all the time; it makes some of the most fun and memorable times of my trip. I just love the water and boating.

Just make sure you get on the right boat. You want to go to Fort Wilderness for the BBQ, you do not want to go to Wilderness Lodge. They are 2 different resorts, with 2 different boats from MK.
