Using a postcard Code that is addressed to a family member..

Hi all,

As recommended by belle I am spinning this off into a seperate thread.

My family recieved a postcard from disney with a great rate for deluxe hotels on it. I want to use it but its addressed to my pops.. he would not be comming on the trip wtih me. do you think they will accept it at 407WDISNEY?? And if they do accept it, will the check in people give me any grief?

I've never been so lucky to receive a postcard but I say call and try. Couldn't hurt! You never know, they just might accept it.

I used a postcard last August and the only time I needed the PIN number and name on the card was when I actually called to make the reservation. I didn't need the card to check-in...
That said, I'm sure that there are some people who have been asked for it at check-in. (Much like the "do I need an activated AP at check-in, will the voucher do, or will they even check?" question).
I would call and ask...there's nothing to lose, but lots to gain!

I used a postcard rate in September 2002. I just needed the PIN when I made the reservation. I was not asked to show the postcard at check-in. I had it with me just in case, but they didn't ask to see it. We stayed at AKL. I have also NEVER been asked to show my AP at any resort when we have had an AP rate and that includes my most recent check-in three weeks ago.

Just received same postcard re:deluxe resorts- caled today to make reservations- turns out that the discount code IS THE PIN #:
therefore, all postcards must share the same pin# as the code- They did not pull up any info from the pin regarding my name/address, etc..... actually I had to give it to them for the reservation- They did ask if the postcard was in my name and I said yes- I think you would be fine to call and make reservations using this pin code-

They did not mention to bring the postcard with me for check-in- I belive it is a generic mailing they mailed out and all codes are the same-

i have used postcards addressed to friends, as have many other people I know. no problems.
