Using a pin to upgrade later?

Last December I received a pin for 40/30/20% off resort room. We had been planning on staying at a moderate, but with this pin, decided to stay at AKL. At the time, I booked a standard room because I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the extra money for a savannah room.

Now, I think I have decided we would like the savannah room. If I call to upgrade our room, will I still be able to use the pin to upgrade? Or, will I have to pay the rack rate?
