Using a Disney gift card to pay off some of Disney hotel bill

We're staying at AKL next May and have the dining plan (very excited!). I have a $200 Disney gift card, as part of our booking through Virgin Holidays, and I wondered if I can use the card to pay off some of the hotel bill? We plan to use the magic bands to charge tips and any extras at meal times and also to buy things in the parks and at DS. Can I go to the front desk and use the gift card to pay off some of the bill as it will be easier than using the card at restaurants?

Yes. you can either use it for dining or towards your hotel charges. The front desk can help you with that.
I use them to pay for almost anything/everything at WDW.
