We are planning on going into the park (5 day hopper) on the day we arrive in Anaheim. We won't be checked into the GC until later that day...can we still use our hopper for that first day??

When you book a vacation package with AAA, how long after paying in full will you receive your documents and tickets?

Usually, you would go to the GCH and pre-check in. They would take your bags and have them delivered to your room when your room is ready. If you have your park tickets in hand, you can use them at any time. If it is a 5 day pass, the first time it is swiped at DL or DCA starts the 5 day period. The documents usually arrive 2 weeks prior as a standard unless you are going with electronic documents (they are sent upon final payment). I believe you can get your tickets from the Disney hotels with electronic documents, but otherwise need to go to guest services at DL with an offsite hotel. Hope that helps :)

In addition to zukeeper's excellent advice, keep in mind that you would qualify for Magic Morning on the day that you arrive (assuming you are arriving VERY early ;).....& assuming it's one of the MM days....T days & S days.).

This perk is because you're staying at one of the 3 DLR hotels....good for day of departure AND arrival....& all the days in between :).

(but only on T days & S days). :thumbsup2

So, your saying we get early entry all 5 days by staying at one of the DLR hotels? :yay:

You get MM the days it is available of your stay. MM is only available on the T & S days of the week so Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday....

We are staying off site for the 1st night we arrive in Anaheim (very late arrival) and planning on checking in sometime after 3 but I will take advantage of the pre-check in. That's wonderful. I wonder how early I can "pre-check" in...don't want to miss the kids expression when walking into DL. I love to see the excitement in their faces.

I've pre-checked in to a DLR hotel at 6:10am. I'm sure you could pre-check in earlier if you needed to.

What day of the week are you checking into the GC?

& what day of the week are you checking out?

Checking in on Monday...out on Saturday. Do you think that will make a difference?

No difference. :)

You'll have MM available to you on Tuesday, Thursday & Sat. if you have park tickets & want to take advantage of it.

On Monday you can pre check in at any time, but the earliest you'll get into DL is the regular Gen. Adm. rope drop (with everyone else). No MM on Monday.

Have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

I just call it checking in, but without a room for us.

We did that around 6am to PPH...we knew it was a Magic Morning day so we got up sick-and-wrong that morning, left the Hilton (our night-before hotel), and went to PPH. Hubby checked us in while we emptied the car, I got the bags to the Bell Services guys while hubby got the surprise that we'd been "chosen" as the Big Kahuna family of the day and were upgraded to a suite. Woo!

Around 3ish we called the number they gave us, they told us if our room was ready. When it was, and when we were ready to get to the room, we went back, got our keys and were told what room it was, and got our luggage delivered by the Bell people.

Any hotel I've ever stayed at would have allowed a very early check-in, by the way...you just don't necessarily have a room ready yet.

All right then...we will be checking in early...and arriving later. ;)
Thanks for the info!
