Can someone please help me as my brain isn’t working right 😅

I’m looking to buy a smallish Poly contract. We are Florida residents and can be pretty flexible. Ideal vacation times would be Late January, April, and the sometime October/Nov.

what use year should I be looking for?

You want your use year to be the beginning of when you usually travel in case you need to cancel in enough time to bank your points. I would suggest an October UY to cover all your preferred times of travel!

I travel similarly to you and I'm mostly in October. This has a banking of deadline of May which works for what I am trying to do. If you don't use your points in the fall or in January, you need to use them in April in time for banking deadline.

If it was me (and maybe I'm wrong), I would look UY October. That way you can bank if needed through May 30.

I guess based on the time you vacation, best uy to look for is probably Sept or Oct. This way you shouldn’t worry about canceling and missing banking windows.

If Oct/Nov is just once in a blue moon, then a December UY would work well for you most of the time. If you plan to do Oct/Nov pretty regularly in addition to Jan and Apr, then Aug or Sept UYs might work for you.

Just keep in mind that UYs matter mainly when it comes down to canceling a reservation after your banking deadline or if you consistently need to book a reservation at the end of one UY and the beginning of the next.

I agree with September or October UY as probably the best. But I wouldn't consider it to be a big deal which UY you get in your case really as you said:

Considering there's an 11 month spread across your desired vacation times, I would be flexible on UY if I was looking for a resale. If direct, then I'd pick September or October.

This phrase always concerns me. Do you plan to book 11 months out? Or, at least more than 7 months out? When people say they're "flexible," it tends to mean that they plan to book with short notice. DVC doesn't work well for short-notice, and you certainly wouldn't need to spend the money on PVB for last-minute trips.
