What is the benefit on owning at 2 different resorts with the same use year?
Is it simply a matter of ease of management?
so let’s say I own 100 points at VGF with a February use year and I’m looking at buying at another resort I always hear buy the same use year, but I couldn’t combine my points for a reservation unless it was at the 7 month mark correct?

Correct. But with 2 different UY you start getting into restrictions about combining them that go beyond just a 7 month window.

Two UYs is two memberships and it is like you are two different owners, At 7 months you can not make a single reservation with both points when they are in different memberships.

You have to transfer between the two, And, I have to say that while we can now use them online, they don’t always play nice with your own points and do some funny things.

So, having one UY is always the easiest unless you have a reason for more than one.

We have 3 contracts across 2 use years and it isn't terrible. The hardest part for us is remembering 2 banking deadlines and if we wanted to combine our AKV solo Oct use year with our SSR and BRV April use year to book one stay we have to exercise our transfer option or break our reservation into two (i.e. first 3 nights with AKV points and last 3 nights with SSR/BRV points). I don't find it very difficult but it certainly is easier if they are the same. If you have all the same use year, at 7 months you have access to all the points to book however you wish.

Do you have two different membership # and logins or is it still under one Disney account?

Same here but new member and have only booked under our direct membership at our home resort at 11mo. Since we plan to travel in the fall, I’m stressing about waiting until the 7mo window so I’m trying to plan it out so I that I have banked enough points on the contract needed for the larger family trip to book at 11mo. If I book at home resort at 11mo, I don‘t think I can modify that reservation to use points from a different home resort at 7 mo (based on posts I’ve read here) without cancelling the original reservation. Is that correct? If so, would you chance having availability at 7mo for a 2 or 3BR? Home resorts are RIV, AKL, and PVB.

Correct, you can’t modify and then adjust the contract they are used from. We are currently planning a large family trip using 2 bedroom and studio but with the borrowing restrictions we don’t have enough points on one contract to book at 11 months. We are lucky to have close friends who own at two of our same resorts so they have offered to book a few nights for us using their points at 11 months to lock us into something. I was getting very nervous about waiting until 7 months given the current demand. Before covid waiting until 7 months wouldn’t have bothered me.
