Use Year and 11 Month Booking Window

New DVC member here. I thought I understood Use Year, but after reading a post, I am again confused.

I have a February Use Year and want to book a 2BR at AKV (home resort) for an October 2010 trip. Will I have any problem booking at 11 months in November 2009?

Use Year has nothing to do with when you can make a reservation. You will always be able to reserve 11 months ahead at your Home Resort. The determining factor is simply whether you will have points available (either banked, current or borrowed) at the time of the reservation. For an October, 2010 trip you can make a reservation at your Home Resort in November, 2009 as long as you will have enough points available in October, 2010. The points do NOT need to be in your account in November when you make the reservation. As long as they will be available by October you are set to go.

Use Year does determine your banking deadline and may be an issue if need to cancel a reservation late in your Use Year, but otherwise Use Year is just the month your points are renewed each year.
