Use Points or Pay Cash advice

Hi - We are in the process of planning our first trip home - how long I've waited to be able to type that -

But, I need your advice.

We are going for 8 nights - the first 5 nights will be at BCV and the last 3 nights at AKL Concierge- which would be a Thurs, Fri and Sat night.

Should we use points for AKL or pay cash?

Being Californians - I was thinking of paying cash for AKL then saving the points and use them to go to DL during the Xmas holidays for a couple of nights.

Just want to get the best benefit possible.

What do yall think?

You may want to compare the cost of paying for the room with cash vs. what the equivalent points are... I can't remember off the top of my head how many points AKL is --- 35+ I'm sure. Plus, view makes a difference in points/cost. If you translate your DVC points to about $10/point figure out the "value" of each option. Or, if you have "points to burn" -- go with the points.

AKL Concierge for May would be 52 points for weeknights and 94 for weekends . So for Thursday, Friday, Saturday you would be using 240 points. That's alot of points for 3 nights! Rack rate would be $524 including tax but you could probably get a discount.
