Use of DVC points for Adventures by Disney?

We are looking to buy into a DVC and found this website to be an AMAZING resource!! One question - I have read that you can create "Reservation points" from your DVC points and use them on the DCL but can you use them towards Adventures by Disney vacations? Thinking of long term planning here. Thanks so much!!

Yes you can but it's not a good use of points. The points needed for AbD have already significantly increased in the 3 years AbD has been around and there's no way of gaging how much the points required will increase each year. Right now, the cheaper AbDs requires about 350-450 points per person going so you have to buy lots of points to make it doable right now and there's no telling how many points it will require 10 years from now.

Yes; but you'd most likely do better renting your points out and then using that $ to pay ABD cash & still have $ leftover.
