Use month for 3 family DVC memberships?

After wanting to join for years....my whole family is in the process of joing the DVC! We will have three seperate DVC memberships - mine at SS, my sisters family at SSR and my parents resale at OKW.

My question is on use month. We usually like to travel together in Oct. - early Dec. and I am confused about which use month that we should all get. Right now I am in OCt. and my sisiter is in June - my parents are still trying to find the right resale and need to target the best month.

Sometimes we will want to transfer points and use them all together for a GV. In order to maximize our points and make sure that they don't expire - what would be the best use months for us to choose. I am confused and need some help before we finalize our contracts.

my understanding (which could be off), is if you always want to travel in October, you should have gotten August or September use years, but you can't change that now. If you are October and you sis is June, I would think you and sis should have gotten the same UY, so that if you want to combine points, you both have the same 11 month window, your mom, who is buying at a different resort, should buy 3 months ahead or behind you. (not sure) Have to ask some pros on this one. So that your 11 month and her 7 month are the same, (if you want a gv at ssr)? I am sure I will be corrected on this one!

unless you are cancelling and your last bank date is gone - everyone should be fine.

your parents should be considering the best deal for them - regardless the use year.

I have a June use year - this is great for Sept, Oct, Nov - if I have to cancel - I have until the end of Nov to bank everything.

of course most of the time I am borrowing.

I agree with spiceycat - June and October are both good use years to have for travel October through December.

Have your parents look for a use year of June, August, September or October (don't believe there is a July use year). It would probably be best if they got either June or October - that way you or your sister could help remind them of banking deadlines. Would be easier (less of a hassle) to get the GV is the use years are the same.
