Use limo svc from airport to hotel or rent car?

Hi everyone. I'd like some opinions on the following:

We're staying on-site for the first time at AKL (DH, DS, DD and myself) Nov 7-12. Although there's really no need for us have a car, it seems like we can rent one for the 5 days for about the same price as it would be to get a limo/towncar/shuttle service to and from the airport. I don't know that we'd really use the car during the week since we're entitled to WDW transportation but is it worth it, just to have the freedom to be able to drive somewhere off site (or downtown etc) if we wanted?

Anyone else ever been in the same situation?

We do both-take a limo from MCO and rent a car.

Gets you from A to B much faster plus you have the option
to go shopping and have dinner off site whenever you want.

I now prefer to rent a car just to give you some flexibility in getting to other resorts for dinners (tho we are always driving to AKL for boma) or to the waterparks and miniature golfing venues. You also don't need to plan your grocery store stop before you get to the resort.

Now that our DD is older, having that door to door service from the airport to the hotel isn't quite such a big deal. That was what I really liked about the limo services.

Rent. Especially if you are flying into MCO. It's very easy to get from the airport to the resorts, and you are not dependent on DW transport (although very reliable). Much easier to get to Downtown Disney and perhaps check out some off site eateries.
