Hi all.

Dec 24th 2003, 12:00.

All the family is in the new house of my SIL for Christmass eve.

All the family? Not really, as usual, my other SIL is not with us, probably with his bikers friends. His dauther was there, because she have no place to go.

At the table, I am seated at the right of my niece. She is 14. After a long silence she said : "I have tried to phone my father ( a biker always between two prison trip ) and he left without saying where he go. I have no mother and no father".

On the return back home, DW and I took a decision. We were supposed to bank the 2004 points to do the cruise in 2005, but changed our mind and we will bring our niece to WDW on dec 26th to 31st 2004, and give her at least one good souvenir of her young years.

I think that this kind of thing is what make DVC so valuable. This is not mesurable with a calculator.

Because of that, our next trip will be one of our most exiting. Giving happiness is probably what Walt Disney wanted the most, way over the financials, the money, or the value of the stock on the market.

Alexx (Can't wait to give her his gift at the Easter's dinner)

My father was fortunate financially, but we have relatives in Appalachia who were not. Starting the first year that WDW opened, my mother always made a point of taking every relative child, out to a couple of layers of in-laws and grands, to a week in WDW at some point during their childhood. I have always admired her for this, as I admire your decision.

Great story, I hope you all have the most wonderful time!

Our son is an only child, so we have invited four of our nieces to accompany us on trips to WDW. He loves having his cousins around to play with.

Wrap up a copy of one of the WDW guide books and give it to her as a gift. Tell her to plan a few activities. We've taken our nieces to MNSSHP, MVMCP, Sunrise Safari, to name a few special things.

Have a wonderful time.

I live in Illinois and my parents live in New Jersey.

I used my DVC points last summer for a 2-bedroom villa at OKW and put my parents in a studio just two doors down. They got to see my kids for a week and we totally enjoyed this wonderful time together.

My dad passed away a short time later, making this special use of my DVC points even more important to me.

This is why DVC is so great....it provides me happiness, while making others happy too! :earsboy:

God bless you! What a wonderful gift! I just know the smile on her face will be your gift in return!:D

Three cheers for you! Hey, and you will get a Disney trip too!

I always bank and borrow my points for a large family trip every third year. I suppose I could use my 600 points each year for my own pleasure but to me making others in my family able to enjoy Disney in such grand style gives me so much pleasure. None of them could afford to go and stay at the boardwalk . Different people as well as some repeats come each time and we all have such wonderful memories to share around the dinner table at holiday gatherings. My DVC is priceless. I could never afford to spend $18000 for two grand villas for cash basis but on points its easy. Someday I may use them for travel for my husband and myself but for now it's all about family memories.

My family does not get along well - together!

so I (until recently) - send my brother down with his family they saved in a 2-bedroom with the tickets.

I would take mother and we would stay in a studio - her choice wanted to go more often.

mother and I would get on each other nerves - we both at home live alone and like it that way....

so not all the family (or friends) memories are good - but some are just down right GREAT!!!

my brother finally let me take my niece (and she brought a friend) to WDW (with him) a couple of years ago - it was a great trip - it was a July 4 trip and several times the girls would get out of my sight - I know - a growing thing - but still I would get upset and then they would....but it was still a GREAT trip....would I do it again - probably...but I don't think she would!

this thanksgiving we will all be together - they will be off-site at the Sheraton Vistana - I will be at the BWV (studio) - so I hope we can get along better....

My Grandmother use to take us all to WDW - she also took my brother and cousin to Hawaii several times - (I couldn't go work)

My Grandmother was someone everyone obey - I am not and that I think is the main problem....We always would stay at the Polyn for a week - it was a great trip.

(oh this is not only my side) - I send my cousin and his wife to OKW in a studio for 5 days - he complainted that it was not a week - so I gave him a choice a 1-bedroom for 5 days or a studio for a week - they picked the 1-bedroom - it became a 2-bedroom because she invited so many relatives....I did not charge them a penny for these trips - now they are trying to charge my brother a $1,000 for a china cabinet they inherited from my grandmother!!!!

oh well God in the end knows all!!!!

Magnifique! Quelle bonne idée! Vous êtes tellement gentil á vôtre niece.
