Use Dreams, Avoid Phone Madness

We're not AP holders but Merrie was able to get public codes applied to our December GF trip the day they came out -- we weren't around to obsess on it because we were on vacation (at Disney, of course)! She herself was on vacation the day that Candlelight Processional packages went on sale but left our request in the hands of another DU agent (without our asking), who handled it without a hitch. So I'd have to say... we've been pleased with service from Merrie! :goodvibes

Merrie is my DU agent and she is fantastic. I have booked 4 trips with her. She couldn't get me discount at POFQ but can at POR, just waiting to hear back from her. I appreciate she will be really busy today.
 
i've never had a problem getting an ap rate...until this year. lesson learned.
 
DU came through for me today!! They not only applied the AP rate to my current reservations but also got the disccount for my "in the process" reservations. :cool1: :cool1:

If you don't get a response from DU make sure it is not your fault. My office server blocks them and I keep forgetting! I then have to call to make sure everything is OK LOL! If I use my comcast account everything works great.

So the couple of times I have felt slighted by the service, I have found it was my fault. (We have a hyper IT stop, my dad uses a Internet service provided by WalMart. WalMart attaches adds, I don't get any emails from my dad!)

Used DU again and stayed at AllStarMusic. Again, a great job. Then last Aug we used DU to add on the first two days of our trip at CR, before we moved over to BWV using our DVC points. We were staying at AllStarMovies and got the AP rate for it. But are hoping to move up to POR. Our agent sent along an email letting us know the AP rates were coming out and did we still want to move up. But before I could get back to her, she had booked us at ASMusic. So, we're now waiting to see what happens with the change to POR. We love our agent and are really sad that we can't use her for longer visits but since we bought DVC we only get to use her for those 2-3 add-ons. Her name is Shirley and we love her to pieces. If you get a chance to read these Shirley...thanks!!!! A great service. And no matter what agent is assigned to you..you can ask for a different one. We always ask for Shirley. And I send her an email to let her know we are sending in a quote request so she can be on the look-out!!!
I was happy to read your post. We're using DU for our Sept/Oct trip and Shirley is our TA. So far we've been very pleased with her. She's always quick to answer my emails and questions. Now if September would just get here!! :flower:
 
My experience with DU was that they never got back to me after I called them. Could have been unusual. In any case I ended up finding out about Small World Vacations from Mousesavers. Have used them for three trips and am really happy. No holding for codes. Today I uselessly wigged myself out worrying I wouldn't get a code for my April trip. Of course they had gotten it for me. Since I live in Denver it is not always convenient for me to get up at 5:00 a.m. and then stay on hold forever. Also the last agent I talked to at CRO sounded like she was on drugs, just reinforcing how much I enjoy not dealing with them!
 
To answer the questions people asked: Truthfully I dont even know who either of the agents were. They never signed their names on the emails. And the first time we attempted to use them we asked for several quotes and 2 weeks later got an email saying they had reserved the highest priced of them (The Poly) without giving us quotes for the other 3 hotels we had requested. We wound up asking for the quotes again, finally got them (our email address worked fine by the way) and got the quotes. We decided to go with a longer stay at a value (rather than 5 nights at a deluxe 9 nights sounded a lot better) and asked them to book us at the All Stars. They kept ignoring that and reserving rooms for us at various deluxe resorts. It was madness! We finally gave up b/c we didnt trust them to acutally book the right resort when 4 emails later (very specific ones asking how we could put down a down payment for our resort, while specifying what nights we wanted at the All Star Music) they still kept trying to book us at deluxes. That might have been the reason why perhaps, the difference in resorts but somehow I think we just had a bad TA with them. Most people have great experiences with them it sounds like.

Most TA's get paid commission by the resort they book customers at. You don't get charged a sur-charge for anything unless its airfare (because airline companies have cut their commission payments to TAs now). So the price should not be higher at DU (assuming it works the same way for them) than it would be if you booked directly through Disney.
 
This was my first time with a Disney Travel agent and I wasn't sure about the loss of control, but I just wanted to say I had a great experience with DU. Our TA, Shirley is wonderful, and very patient as I wavered between resorts. She tried to get us an AP rate on Wed for WL, no luck- they were all out; but today, she was successful with an AP rate; as I'm booking two rooms, I'm saving over $1000. Thank you Shirley!
 
We booked our honeymoon through Dreams and it was a really great experience. It was so hassel free, and our agent, Tricia, took care of everything for us, Illuminations cruise, priority seatings, codes etc..

I would definitely use them again!
