Use Disney Visa to buy Hotwire Gift Cards...

If I use my Disney Visa to buy Hotwire gift cards, do I still get my Disney rewards points?? Just wondering if anyone has had this experience.

I was thinking of buying Target gift cards for my weekly shopping, to get the 20% discount, but I really also want to get my Disney rewards.

Yes, it is treated as a purchase by Banc One (issuing bank for Disney Visa) for my Marriott Visa. I assume the Disney Visa is the same way, but maybe someone with the same card will verify.

Yes, I have used my DV to purchase Hotwire gift cards. I have never made any purchase with the DV that did not qualify for reward points. Are you aware of any other purchase that would not qualify?

I'm pretty sure you can't get points for balance transfers, cash advances, money orders....

I was thinking that the gift card is almost the same as cash. With my AA frequent flyer plan, you can get miles for shopping online at GAP.com, etc. but I thought I read that you wouldn't get miles for purchasing gift cards.

I am excited to purchase Target cards at a discount for my household shopping (at a 20% discount) and then still get the Disney rewards.

Have fun getting those giftcards! I just reached my limit for Target cards for the year; once I hit my limit of Penney's and Toys R Us cards, I think I'll quit. I have also used them for the movie tickets and been very happy with their service.

I never do balance transfers or cash advances, but I have always gotten points for the giftcards purchased with Disney Visa.

Yep, it's 15 all right. They can be used for online orders too. 15 sure didn't last long.

I plan to start putting money on one of the new American Express Travel Funds cards for my 5/05 Disney trip. Wonder if I do this thru my Disney Visa if I will get the points? I had planned to just start purchasing hoppers and paying on my room but thought this would be a better plan just in case something happened and I couldn't go.
