We are traveling on USAIRWAYS with a double stroller, a regular car seat and a booster seat. I just spoke with the airline and they said I can only gate check 1 item per child (either a stroller or car seat), the other I would have to pay for. Our 16 month old doesn't have a seat but our 4 year old does - can I put him in one of the car seats to avoid paying a checked baggage fee and just gate check the booster and stroller?? The seat is approved for airplanes but I don't know if they allow 4 year olds to sit in car seats. I also don't want to "regular check" a car seat for fear of it getting ruined since I don't have a protective bag for it.
