Semantics are fun!

Couldnt someone go from Europe to the UK, then on to the US?
I've got to agree. I'm not scared at all about the virus. I just talked to a coworker, it's strange that this is cancelled, that is cancelled, we need to make plans to operate on limited staff, a different plan for skeleton staff, etc, but (at least at this point), everything is "normal" in my life.Thought I would share this.

After reading that post from that Dr. I agree with it. I will give you the short form of it. He basically says that while he is concerned for those that are at high risk but he isn't scared of this virus.
As he states "What I am scared about is the loss of reason and wave of fear that has induced the masses of society into a spellbinding spiral of panic, stockpiling obscene quantities of anything that could fill a bomb shelter adequately in a post-apocalyptic world. I am scared of the N95 masks that are stolen from hospitals and urgent care clinics where they are actually needed for front line healthcare providers and instead are being donned in airports, malls, and coffee lounges, perpetuating even more fear and suspicion of others.others." He is also scared that we teaching our kids to panic, fear and be suspicious instead of being rational and open minded.
LOL.
That's like saying Alaska and Hawaii aren't part of the USA.
But isn't "Europe" a continent? Of which the UK is a part?they may not be in the European Union but still part of Europe and that is incorrect.

Europe is a continent, USA and European Union are quite a bit different. Alaska IS part of North America BTW.. Mixing apples and oranges here.. Geographic vs Governmental. My response was someone saying that they may not be in the European Union but still part of Europe and that is incorrect. They are not.

No Great Britain is an island and not part of the continent of Europe. I am not saying people don’t include it, but it technically is not part of it.

There are only seven continents. Which one does Great Britain belong to?No Great Britain is an island and not part of the continent of Europe. I am not saying people don’t include it, but it technically is not part of it.
Then which continent is a part of?No Great Britain is an island and not part of the continent of Europe. I am not saying people don’t include it, but it technically is not part of it.
You see panic - I see preparation.@BuckeyeBama what's so funny about what I posted? Yes this virus is concerning but to see people go into full on panic mode is scary. If people would learn the facts and act accordingly we would be much better off. There is no need to stockpile on items as if the world is ending.
The Coronavirus knows no difference between Schengen or not. Just between The U. K. and Germany alone there are over 40 !! Flights a day!!! Passport control was a no brainer. Though the U.K. has pass control and is an island means it is no less connected, and people move between no less freely than France/ Germany as an example. This decision was purely political.OMG.. The UK is an island in northwestern Europe. It is NOT part of the Schengen Zone. This is likely the reason for different travel restrictions to the US. They do NOT have open borders.
