We are staying at POR in Aug & this is our 3rd trip to WDW in 2 years. We really want to get to Universal.

We are a family of 4 (kids 13 & 10) plus 2 or 3 of our friends (1 adult & 13 & 10 yo).

#1 What park would you do. Is there time to do both? They open 9 am & close at 8 pm?

#2 How would you get there? Taxi, Rent car, other?

#3 What is is a MUST eat restaurant?

THanks so much for any input.

I think I would take kids that age to IOA for sure! It has more water type rides and august is blazing hot!

There might be time to do both. They have a 1 day 2 park ticket they sell at the gate. You could buy a 1 park ticket , do one park, then if you have time up-grade your ticket to the 1 day-2 park. Then you wouldnt have to decide ahead of time. It would be kind of hard to get both in, when in august are you going?

Most people say rent a car. I'm kind of lazy so I might want to take a taxi myself. If you do rent a car I would suggest valet parking. It is worth the price (anyone know the exact price, I think its around 20$) It would put you right at the escalators and its just easier, especially with tired feet at the end of the day.

Most people say Mythos for the must eat restaurant, I havent eaten there yet but it is on my list for this trip! (its at IOA)

Good Luck!

We just got back from Universal. We had the express pass and were able to ride all the rides in one day. This didn't really give us time to see the shows so we went back the next day for that. I think the express pass was worth the extra money!! Also a lot of the rides in the Universal Studios park had water somewhere in the ride. I don't remember one ride where we didn't at least get a sprinkle. This was horrid for us just because it was rainy and cold already but will be a blessing in August! Hope this helps.

As the parks are right next door to each other you can easily do both in one day, I would recommend that you arrive early though.

Hard Rock Cafe would be my restaurant choice.

I havent' heard about the 1-day-2-park ticket before. Does anyone know how much this is?
