Us, Food, Drink, Friends, and Sledge (Hijack update Disney and Napa Rose 12/16)

Day 5 Part Duex - Let's Dive Head 1st in the Ditch

So we were did we leave off.. eating around the world, fun with Jay and Brenda, oh yea - we are off to the Puglian Wine Class!
WDW2009foodandwine650.jpg

We were scared about this one! Seems the cruise director for this class had a bad habit of not showing. We almost said forget it about going but we did waddle on over with all thoughts that we would be $5 richer when they didn't show!
Low and behold - The mysterious disappearing Puglian Wine Talkers! Not to be confused with the Puglian Wine Walkers found in Circus of the Stars!:lmao:
WDW2009foodandwine654.jpg

We drank some wine that was OK - the talk was short but all and all the people who booked the event and it was canceled didn't miss much!

The wines -

Not knowing what we wanted to do next I looked at my phone and had a message from Brenda saying they were going to try and get a seat at the new tequila bar and if we wanted to wander on over and have a margarita (or 6)! This sounded like a fun idea so we walk on to Mexico-land. This is when life at WDW gets a little ... hmmm... shall we say blurry? BLURRY that is a good word! When we walk in Brenda and Jay have a seat and are enjoying a cocktail with CDTommie and his wonderful wife, who we had the pleasure of meeting at PFTS and Brenda's Birthday Bash. We sit down and well .. I will give you a photo journey by National Booz-o-Graphics! :rotfl2:

Here are Brenda and I at the start of the afternoon -

The classic Margarita!
WDW2009foodandwine659.jpg

Disney got all the drinks in this place right! They are all excellent and full of tequila goodness. See that little silver shaker?! That is full of your refill for the classic!

You know how it goes - You meet friends at a bar, you order a drink, you order another drink and some may even order a third or dare I say a fourth.. then the next thing you know you have a Godzilla on the table and you have a strangers Birthday hat on your head! :confused3 What this doesn't happen to all of you???! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Godzilla - purchased by Jay and Brenda for their collection and bravely brought out to show the drunks, I mean the friends at the table!
WDW2009foodandwine664.jpg

The Birthday girl and her friend had come for the day from Tampa to get the free birthday in. Brenda - hopped up on tequila spotted the birthday girls shiny hat and next thing we know we are pulling them over to our table, Brenda's trying to buy her shots and we all have her hat on our head! What?? This doesn't happen to you all either?!!! I think I see 12 steps in our future! Anyway -:lmao:

Here is Susan - the friend of the birthday girl and poor thing also the designated driver sitting in and getting to know the drunk table!:rotfl2:
WDW2009foodandwine670.jpg

So yes, The Shiny Hat - for us (Brenda first) it was a blinkin beekin! So we all had to get out sticky margarita hands on it for a photo opportunity!:rotfl:

Susan (poor D.D. forced by drunks) with the Hat!
Susan we did have fun! Thank you for putting up with us! :rotfl2:

WDW2009foodandwine672.jpg

Me with two crazy guys and my Hat photo!
WDW2009foodandwine673.jpg

Tommie! We loved spending time with you!
WDW2009foodandwine674.jpg

One handsome man saying Cheers!
WDW2009foodandwine675.jpg

Brenda-doubles anyone?!:rotfl2:
WDW2009foodandwine679.jpg

Need I say More?! Back off he's all mine!:rotfl2::lovestruc

Hard to come up with them while you're walking around drinking. But when one is home drinking it works.

Time flies, doesn’t seem a minute
Since the World Showcase had the food fiends in it
Bangkok, no one wants to dine there
Even all the locals won’t get into the line there
No icewine, no Regale, no champagne, just one beer

One beer in Bangkok is the best they offer
I guess in Thailand there is not much wine
One beer in Bangkok won’t put cash in coffer
They might have to pay people to get in line
Even a snack credit won’t get them in line

One kiosk’s very like another
When you’ve had your share of booze samples, brother

Bangkok soup, not a chance, it’s 90 degrees out here
They don’t even have a wine, that's what it's all about here

Whadda ya mean?
You get one clouded, diluted, stinkin wine…

Big shrimp, too much spice
Little white wine with that shrimp would have been nice

Who cares?
Bet you chocolate stogies the papaya salad’s not as bad as the pirogies
I’ll taste your beer before you taste mine, sunshine

OMG! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I absolutely loved that. Bet your chocolate stogies I did. And yes, the papaya salad was probably WAY better than the Poland and German kiosks combined. I enjoyed that you were able to sum up everything we talked about Bangkok in that one song.

And yeah, the signature is awesome. The elephant killed a man! ROFL!

I demand a ditch-over ... I mean a do-over! :rotfl2:

Oh these pictures bring back such good, warm, fuzzy, bleary memories ... and I apologize right now if I was an obnoxious drunk instead of one of those charming and endearing ones. :rotfl2:

Well at this point Brenda starts to set up a "Look at me do a drunk funny picture!" When she does a drunk funny picture and spills water all over the table - I just asked Jason if this was what happened and all I got was - "yea, something like that happened!":rotfl2::rotfl2:

So this is the picture that was being set up before the spilling incident!

WDW2009foodandwine668.jpg

At this point something happened to us at Disney that never happens! We received free FOOD from the bar (and water -Lots and Lots of water):rotfl2::rotfl2: For some reason unknown to us the kind people that ran the bar thought we all might need something besides tequila in our bellies!

So Disney tip #564 -if your on a tight budget just get drunk at the Ditch - you will then receive a complimentary order of chips and salsa plus all the water you can drink! That's one for the guide books!

Water is not as good as tequila!
WDW2009foodandwine687.jpg

Brenda and I after tequila! Not as calm as before!
WDW2009foodandwine689.jpg

and here we are with Francisco! The kind waiter who dealt with us on three trips to the Ditch! :rotfl:
WDW2009foodandwine690.jpg

A group shot before we left! (Not asked to leave -left on our own!)
WDW2009foodandwine688.jpg

I demand a ditch-over ... I mean a do-over! :rotfl2:

Oh these pictures bring back such good, warm, fuzzy, bleary memories ... and I apologize right now if I was an obnoxious drunk instead of one of those charming and endearing ones. :rotfl2:

Obnoxious?? Never! Cute - adorable- charming- and wet but not obnoxious! :rotfl2:

OMG Chelsi! You all forced a random stranger to let you buy her drinks and force her to give up her birthday hat for photographic purposes?

:worship: :worship:

You rock. I think it looked like a good time to me! I found myself in the Ditch quite often. I may want to move in when I return in a couple weeks.

All I can say is thank goodness I only spilled water ... it would have been a crime to waste good alcohol. :rotfl2:

And I forgot to tell you but all of our membership cards for NASA showed up this weekend.

North American Society of Alcoholics.

:lmao:

So then we had to go over and try on the Nacho Hats! I believe this is why they put them in Mexico-land to start with! Gotta keep the drunk entertained! :lmao:

Nacho Jason!
WDW2009foodandwine691.jpg

Ole Brenda! Donde esta El Nacho Hat? :confused3 :rotfl2:on your head!
WDW2009foodandwine693.jpg

It's the 2nd most interesting man in the world and his side kick Pepe!
Pepe has Nacho Hat envy! :rotfl2:
WDW2009foodandwine695.jpg

Those are awesome. Now the Nacho Hat Incident makes sense.

Hope you like my new signature contribution to the Rankin Bass tribute. ;)

There's too much that's making me laugh to quote.
The pictures
The songs
The booze

I love it all.:lmao::lmao:

We went into the Ditch and left at 6(ish) - When we finally stumbled out - the fact that we were not actually in Mexico and it was still light out hit Brenda kinda hard! It's so sad when a drunk has to leave the mother ship after a long rough time at sea! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
WDW2009foodandwine696.jpg

Just joking - Brenda was doing her best Gollum - "The Light!!!!" :rotfl2:

So having spent the day drinking and being at the food and wine festival we did what any fun loving boozed up four-some would do! Drink and Eat!:rotfl2:

WDW2009foodandwine697.jpg

Bread pudding from New Orleans!
WDW2009foodandwine699.jpg

The cloudy Marker's Mark that Disney messed up with some sort of Purple juice! Makes me SAD when people spoil good booze! BAD DISNEY!
WDW2009foodandwine698.jpg

At this time the eat to the beat concert had started and it was Sister Sledge!
I will only speak for myself at this point but nothing makes me enjoy Sad Old Disco Divas more than a day of drinking! :rotfl2:

Here are three Boozy friends Enjoying(?) the concert!
WDW2009foodandwine704.jpg

During the show I was mystified by something I saw being sold on one of the peddlers carts while setting up for Illuminations! It was calling to me - like a Siren song in the night! I knew I wanted it and I guess my little hubby knew I had to have it and while the concert was on he went and got me our new trip mascot!- friends I give you SLEDGE

WDW2009foodandwine710.jpg

Here are some facts about Sledge!
He can eat and drink us under the table!
WDW2009foodandwine707.jpg

WDW2009foodandwine909.jpg

See Brenda tried to keep up with him!
WDW2009foodandwine711.jpg

He's an International Man of Mystery !
WDW2009foodandwine917.jpg

He loves to PARTY DOWN at all the hottest spots!
WDW2009foodandwine924.jpg

He's a humanitarian and works with animals!
WDW2009foodandwine902.jpg

He only knows how to break rules and knows no boundaries!
WDW2009foodandwine903.jpg

All this fun has to come to an end for the day!
Sledge went off to party for a bit and we went for some drunk food at ESPN!
WDW2009foodandwine713.jpg

Big Kisses and Love to Jay and Brenda -this is a day that if we ever remember completely we will never forget!:yay::rotfl2:

OMG Chelsi! You all forced a random stranger to let you buy her drinks and force her to give up her birthday hat for photographic purposes?

:worship: :worship:

You rock. I think it looked like a good time to me! I found myself in the Ditch quite often. I may want to move in when I return in a couple weeks.

I put the blame of the stranger on Brenda! I can't take credit for it!
I am with you Lori - they should sell DVC point at the Ditch! :rotfl2:

All I can say is thank goodness I only spilled water ... it would have been a crime to waste good alcohol. :rotfl2:

And I forgot to tell you but all of our membership cards for NASA showed up this weekend.

North American Society of Alcoholics.

:lmao:

NASA! :rotfl2: and me with only my Get out of Hell Free card Jay gave me! :lmao:

Those are awesome. Now the Nacho Hat Incident makes sense.

Hope you like my new signature contribution to the Rankin Bass tribute. ;)

I love all Rankin and Bass and that is Super Cool! :thumbsup2
There's too much that's making me laugh to quote.
The pictures
The songs
The booze

I love it all.:lmao::lmao:

:lovestruc Thank you for reading and enjoying - I am still thinking about the drive thru drink you had! :rotfl:

To quote Homer Simpson, "Everything looks bad if you remember it."

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't think I've ever been so amused by making such a total donkey of myself in a long, long time. :lmao: We had a great time with you guys and can't wait to do it again. I think we proved that while there are drunken revelers at the F&W Festival they can still be well-behaved. For example ... none of us puked on a small child even though there were plenty of prime opportunities to do so. :lmao:

And your Sledge montage was awesome!!!

Sledge Rulz!!! :thumbsup2

Good lord, what the hell is that thing called Sledge? That's a scary piece of work if I ever saw it. That thing would scare the poop outta me if I saw it coming at me. :scared1:

And I'm the same way as Brenda was when leaving the Ditch. But I channel my inner Mogwai. Bright light! Auuuuuuuuggggggggh!

Outstanding! :thumbsup2 Glad you all had a great time together! :goodvibes How are you guys gonna top this?! Oh, I know! VEGAS! LOL! :rotfl:

I probably have points at the Ditch, I'm the charter Ditch member, they've written my name on the corner booth underneath the Avenging Angel of Tequila.

Lori, you heard of Sister Sledge? That's Brother Sledge. Although you probably need to go back to CSI and get the forensic anthropologist to say whether it's actually a Sister (they measure the nose or something)

I just don't leave the Ditch until nightfall so I don't know about the light thing.

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Nacho hat.

Nacho hat who?

That's nacho hat, it's mine.

I know! I will have to do Sledge tonight if I can - post about him that is.. it all comes out so wrong!

This is the start of my catching up and a good start :thumbsup2
