Hello! At our wits end here...need to arrange an April 2009 visit to our DS doing Masters at UCL.
Trying to find REPUTABLE agent or owners to rent us a self-catered flat for 2 wks... We realize prices are high but YIKES :scared1: every time we think we've located a place online, our further research reveals nothing but HORROR stories about bait & switch tactics or outright fraud/theft!

Can any of our UK friends point us to some reputable sources we may be missing to find a clean & safe apt ? We prefer Bloomsbury but are willing to consider Covent Garden, St. James or Picadilly areas as well.

Happy to repay your kindness with any help I can offer based on my annual visit to WDW for the past 36 yrs!:flower3:

Mai,

I can recommend a brilliant serviced apartment directly opposite buckingham palace overlooking the royal mews, but it is likely to be nigh in 4000 sterling for 14 days you can find more info at

as a new member i do not seem to be able to post links to websites but it is rubenshotel dotcom forward slash apartments

if you can provide some dates and budget i can ask around a few contacts that may have some ideas.

I'll check that directly, Lord Mac....but err....would that be $8000 USD for the 2wks? I'm afraid we need to be more around $3-3500 USD if at all possible. No frills is fine as long as CLEAN/SAFE & Kitchen. Maybe we need some pixiedust?:wizard:

The REUBENS is just magnificent. And if my next husband is Prince Charming, that is EXACTLY where I'll stay! princess:

Until then, this Cinderella will need to seek much more modest dwellings :laundy:

But many thanks, Lord Mac:flower3:

Have you looked at this company?

I can't personally recommend them as I've not used them, but I have heard of them if that's any help. They have properties in most major European cities.

(You might need to phone them to get rates for next April.)

Yes, I checked them, Dimplenose!

Believe it or not, they are already all booked up! It turns out that my April weeks encompass the London Marathon as well as the holiday!

But thanks anyway :flower3:

Any other ideas are appreciated....:surfweb:

This looks like a great resource, Lizzybear...already making inquiries!
We'll be making a 'pilgrimage' up to Liverpool as well! Thanks again:flower3:

Have a fantastic time! Liverpool has had a lot of money put into it in the past few years and some of the previously neglected parts are looking great now :goodvibes If you're a Beatles fan the museum on the Albert Dock is worth a visit, also the Magical Mystery Tour :)

You'll probably see some of the Superlambanana statues during your time here, this website has some info about them:

Looks wonderful...my DH loves Epcot's BRITISH INVASION shows & spends MUCH of our time at WDW watching them & singing along (I think one of the benches there has a plaque with his name engraved :rotfl: ) Finally, he gets to make the PILGIMAGE to some of the actual sites...He's already threatened to camp out at Abbey Road's crossing webcam so the world can see him constantly walking across the road without his shoes on;)
