Hello!

Im just wondering some opinions on US Airways. We have always flown Delta or AA. We got to choose our seats when I booked on orbitz, does anyone know if they guarentee that the seats will not change? It seems like everyone picked their own seats so Im guessing it will stay the same. Just looking for overall opinions about US Airways. Also, we have a FOUR hour layover in the charlotte airport on our way down. Are their good resturants, shops in that airport? I've had a connecting flight twice there before but it was a very short layover and I dont think we ever had time for anything but running to the next gate.

Thanks!

I fly U.S Airways all the time. Pretty much weekly. As far as your seat question, they dont change seats on you. At least they never changed my seats.

Charlotte is my favorite airport. It is big but very easy to get around. Basically all the concourses lead into a big restaurant shop area. They have a bunch of restaurants from fast food to sit down. They have a Chili's, a Tequillaria (sp?) and they have this great CS BBQ place. They also have a Burger King, Quiznos, Krispy Kreme, Hot Dog Joint. They also have some nice shops too

They have a whole lineup of rocking chairs in this big area that can look out on the runways. It is very nice and relaxing. I sit in those all the time. As I said, charlotte is my absolute favorite airport without a doubt.

Please let me know if you have any more specific questions since I have been there about 100 times :)

I fly through Charlotte almost weekly. It is a nice airport. Plenty of places to eat. There is also a piano in the main concourse. Someone is usually playing. There is also a business center if you have a laptop you can check email or surf the net.

It is not a bad place to have a layover. I also fly USAirways almost all the time and they are good. I have no complaints with them.

Two years ago my 3 kids and I few US Air and had a layover in Charlotte. It was supposed to be 1-1/2 hours but with a change in our flights it ended up being 2-1/2 hours. I was really dreading sitting in an airport for that long but we ended up loving the Charlotte airport. We talk about that airport almost as much as the trip itself. There were lots of shops and restaurants. We all had something different for lunch and we sat in the rocking chairs and watched the world go by. The kids got a kick out of the huge mobile there. I think that is probably one of the nicest and cleanest airports I have been in and I have been checking out US Air for our next trip just to see if we can connect in Charlotte. Only trouble is I keep finding connecting flights through Washington D.C. I think you will enjoy your layover as wierd as that probably sounds. :teeth:

There is not an airline out there that gurantees your seats will not change after you book. When you book you are booking A seat on the plane, not always the seat of your choice!

At least once a week on these boards I read someone complaining that "my seats were changed"

Well so far so good. I keep checking orbitz who I booked through and my seats are still the same. I've had my seats be changed before when my dd was little and I refused to sit down until we were seated together. As like then, this is my ds first plane ride and hes 6 and he will NOT sit away from me. My dad also needs an aisle seat because of leg problems so hopefully they don't change our seats.

Charlotte is the most freakishly nice airport on earth! I had a TSA agent hug me once, I get upgrades there, everyone who works there is just SO NICE!!! even at 5am, the staff working there are soooooooo cheeful. I finally understood why Safetymom loves her US Airways!

We live 45 minutes from Charlotte airport and try to fly out of there anytime we can. It is freakishly nice and very clean. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful as a previous poster mentioned. The price is just abnormally high most flights. We were able to get $200.00 rt flights to Disney this Sept. so we'll be heading back to CLT!
