Does anyone know what it would cost to change a ticket on US Air? I looked at their website and it looked like it was $25 per ticket but I couldn't be sure. I would like to change departure from Saturday to either Friday or late Thursday. Also would they charge me just the change fee or would I also have to pay the difference in ticket price if there is one? Thanks for your help. :flower:

You'll have to pay both, and I think the change fee is higher than $25.

You could go to the airport and standby for an earlier flight and probably not get charged anything extra (I do this often and haven't been charged), but there's no guarantee of getting on and if there's a group of you the odds go down.

I believe the change fee is $100. You would also have to pay any difference in fare. I had to cancel a ticket for my niece last May and that is what they told me. I could apply it to a future flight - $100. Only good for 1 year after original purchase date and only good for her. Since we have not rescheduled her trip (long story), I lost the money.

Thanks Anne and Debbie. I figured I was reading the information on the web site wrong. I can't justify spending that kind of money for one or two more days in Orlando so Saturday it is!

I thought they had recently announced a lowering of the ticket change fee, but couldn't find it on their website. It did list a $25 fee to standby on an earlier flight.

They do advertise the $25 standby fee, but I've never had to pay it. I never have more than my pocketbook and a small tote, no checked bags that they need to retrieve, so that might be the difference.

It is usually harder to fly standby on your first flight. Thier are exceptions. As often as Anne flys she may be perferred flyer. (That makes a big difference as to where you wind up on the standby list!) Also, if you are looking at something like Easter weekend it is going to be harder.
