I am starting to forget my vacation. It has only been two weeks. I have those mommy hormones that make me forget the bad stuff attributed to kids. That is how I explain going through child birth 3 times. You forget. That is why I am planning the next trip already.
But, I digress
The next day of our vacation is Wednesday. This is our rest day. But it is really a water park day. We head off to Blizzard Beach. I wanted to go back to TL because I thought the whole swim with shark thing was cool. I even have all my limbs, so why not? I wanted SIL to experience it too. I get out voted, so today I am the whiny one. We get to BB early and they let us in all the way to the kiddie area. They do the countdown to the rope drop and when they release us from the corral, we head to find shade. I am amazed, the only chairs we find in "shade" are by a little weed they call a tree. Now these chairs do not have stuff on them but they are surrounded by chairs that do. I think to myself, are they together? No? Maybe? I chuck the benefit of the doubt thing an put our stuff on 2 lounge chairs and then pull up some baby chairs and make our own tropical paradise in the "shade". All the boys take off and its DD , SIL and me with 200 of our closest minature friends in the kiddle area. So DD ditches us and SIL and I actually get to chat. After a few days of 24 hours straight with the kids, I really enjoyed it. We got some sun and quiet. I was actually nice. A couple hours later the boys are back and they want to go on the family ride. We chicks are part of the family, so they want us to come. Imagine that. DD starts her normal kicking and screaming all the way up. She seem to think DH and I are going to switch off at the top, so she doesn't have to ride. I tell her that I am a mean mom and she is going to ride because I figured out she is a speed junkie and only pretends to be scared to get souvies from mom. She continues to explain how cruel I am making her go on. Everyone in line at this point thinks I should be reported to Child Welfare. We get to the top and ride. As you probably guessed , she LOVED it. We rode 3 more times. The only thing that stopped me was climbing of the stairs. They should have signs that specifially state, "Fat, middle aged women should not attempt to climb these stairs more than three times or you will be tired and crabby the rest of the day. " That fourth time did me in. DD, SIL and I get in the lazy river and DH joins us after a couple of times around. DD gets bored with the whole tube thing and decides to "swim". This is the same child who didn't want to let go of me at all at TL. Now she is Ariel. Then the sky starts to get dark and we hear it on the loud speaker "Get out of the water or you will be hit by lightning and we don't want to get sued, so hurry up!" We corral the boys ,collect our things and go to the lodge for lunch. I had the misguided impression that the lodge was indoors. No such luck. We get our food find an umbrella table. The storm comes, it rains and rains and rains. We decide to leave when it clears for a few minutes. Back at the hotel, we rent a movie for the kids and DH and I take a nap. Now this is vacation. Nobody whined. I start to notice - WATER = HAPPY KIDS . Do I learn? No, tomorrow another commando day.....
