Urgent Question about a package

So, I leave tomorrow morning at 6am. I have a package booked with 9 day park hoppers and the free dining plan. The package is for two adults.

Now, here is the crazy bit. I was planning on going with my best friend however she informed me about an hour ago that she is no longer able to go (not going into details). However, I am still going. I have done solo trips before and enjoy them. Granted I am a little bummed that this was going to be her first time ever going to Disney and I was looking forward to showing her around.

Will there be any problems checking in tomorrow morning if one of the people on the booking doesn't show? I know we can't get a refund for her ticket, her Not So Scary ticket, and all the other stuff we have fully paid for already. My only concern is making sure that I won't have a problem still doing everything. Everything is under my name so I don't see why it would be an issue but I just want to make sure.

Going to turn this awful news into something positive and not let this ruin my trip! Been looking forward to this for so long. Any suggestions about things I might be able to cancel would be awesome!

I would imagine you would have her dining credits to use. You can always hold on to your friend's nine day park hopper ticket and use it another time. That's not going to expire. Maybe ask guest relations to take it off her magic band and put it on a hard ticket if you want to keep it instead.

Oh I never thought about the dining credits! They lump them all together in a pool for the party right so my magic band will technically have 36 meals and 18 snacks for a 9 night stay? Man I am going to eat like crazy and try some new food then! Just as long as she doesn't need to be present when checking in, I should be totally fine with everything else right?

She definitely does NOT need to be present. Enjoy!!!

Hope you're hungry! :goodvibes

We had several trips where DH and DD had to leave halfway through or show up late ..... leaving DS and I lots of DDP credits to eat. Agree with PP, just put the ticket on a hard ticket and save for later. We did that every year because DS and I have APs.

If I put the ticket on a hard ticket to save for later, will that mess up the extra dining credits? Also, will the ticket still be in her name or once it is moved to a hard ticket, can anybody use the ticket?

Also, thanks guys for the last minute help! I should really be in bed right now but had a lot to go over since this all happened SO last minute!

No. Putting her ticket on a hard ticket should not screw up your dining credits. We do it all the time because we have AP's and opt to buy tickets to take advantage of free dining.

Once the ticket has been transferred to a hard ticket, it's just considered an adult ticket. Anyone can re link it to their MDE account. Just don't lose it.

Tickets have nothing to do with DDP but you did buy it as a requirement to get Free Dining so you would not be able to "return" it if you were trying to take her off the package. That would probably cause you to lose them. Keep the ticket for later.

We have never had problems with the ticket being used by someone else. I have even on the MDE reassigned the ticket to someone else. Maybe a ticket expert will pop on here to speak up.

There will be no problems. Go hungry and have a great time!! Enjoy trying everything!

Awesome to hear how you are going to go and make it fun! If it were me, I would be inclined to spread some magic with those extra dining credits-maybe you could pick up a snack or CS meal for someone in line, or something-that would be super fun!!

If you happen to check back here...

First of all, have a great time! You may be able to get a refund on your friend's MNSSHP ticket, try asking. I know it isn't the bulk of the cost, but it would be something.

Also, you may be able to split CS credits into snack credits and use then at the food and wine kiosks. I think you'd have to use all three credits at one booth, though.

Don't forget you can use those snack credits to buy things in the shops too. Stock on stuff to take home to share.

Call GS now or ask at check in what they can help you with. They may help you due to your situation and minimize your losses. It's worth a try... Have a wonderful time!
