There is a flight from gatwick to dublin tomorrow afternoon that departs 1.30 and lands at 2.45pm which allows you to have time to get the 5pm dublin to sligo flight above. It's £140 per person with www.ryanair.com - the website is a little slow.

you could also get a bus to sligo from dublin too about a 3 hour drive I think

Grandad will be able to get a lift from Sligo airport when he gets there.

Claire,i have found from your info the Dublin to Sligo for 180euros-which i think is the best one,have written this down+all the times.It's the Heathrow to Dublin i am lost with.I don't know why his brother mentioned Heathrow+not Gatwick,but he was adamant it would be better for Grandad.I am not sure really what is best for Grandad-they will be getting the train to the airport.Nan+Grandad live near to Becontree station dagenham essex.I have since spoken to Grandad's other sister(this gets confusing as there are 11 siblings) who lives in Harrow+she is looking at the Heathrow to Dublin(she said Heathrow is cheaper than going from Gatwick) with BMI flight number BD127 leaving at 1-05pm-she said the price was £249 for her(dep tomorrow-returning 6th Aug),but when i looked it comes up £329 each for Nan+Grandad-i don't know what i am doing wrong.She is also looking at the Dublin to Sligo flight that you gave me+the prices are matching with hers on that.So sorry to confuse you.x.

I have found that bmi flight for £222 which plus tax is probably £249 the price your aunt has got. Are you looking on www.flybmi.com ?????

ETA: that link doesn't work but just go to www.flybmi.com and enter the dates - 30th july to 6th aug and it will list all the flights including the one your aunt's booked....at £222 plus taxes.

To be honest Michelle if you are booking the dublin to slingo one i found then providing your nan & gdad get into dublin in time it doesn't matter if they go from heathrow or gatwick....I would go with the ryanair one i listed above as it's the cheapest and will get them to dublin in plenty of time.

Yes i am looking on your first link+the second link did'nt work.
That £222-what is the box for underneath with the other amounts in??.I clicked on one of those boxes-that's probably where that larger figure came from??.It says on the same page that the prices inc taxes etc...???.x.

The box underneath is for u to select the return flight - so if you go with the £47 return it brings the total at £269 pp.

Then the Dublin to Sligo one is easy enough the 5-05pm departing.

Morning everyone,
First of all a HUGE thank you to everyone,you are all so kind-i was very overwhelmed(+teary eyed)after all of you were willing to help me.x.

UPDATE..............
NOTHING was booked last night,i spoke to my Grandad about 11-45pm,and in amongst all of this hectic-ness(i don't even think that's a word,but it will do )we totally forgot about my Nan's very important hospital scan on her liver,Friday morning.(my Nan has had problems since Jan+has only just gotten an appointment now ),and as much as Grandad want's to go+see his Sister-he also does'nt want to cancel Nan's appointment.My Nan cannot be left on her own(which is mine+Grandad's decision-it's complicated),so he would'nt go to Ireland+leave her.All options have been considered on the phone last night+Nan won't even stay with me(she is very stubborn+set in her ways).So we are at a standstill.

I have been looking at flights again this morning,for Friday afternoon and Sat afternoon-but as i am sure you all know-who knows when my Aunt could pass.(my Sister who died of cancer this year in May-lasted nearly 4 months in the hospital,after they gave her only 3 days).

My Grandad is waiting on another updated phone call today.One of his main worries is that,he will get the phone call to say she has passed on,and he won't be able to make the funeral in time .He says that funerals in Ireland are very,very quick compared to over here(normally within 2 days).

I will keep you all updated,if you wish me to do so-i don't mind .

I have found Sat Heathrow2Dublin £307 each.BMI.
Dublin to Sligo-150.00 euros for both of them.Aer arann.
