Am thinking of booking (arriving this Friday/Saturday March 18). Tripadvisor has glowing reports, but need confirmation. Want to spend time at resort as 2 families kids 2,5,8,12. Stayed at Orange Lake before and while we did not take full advantage of amenities, they did have plenty of activities, great pools and if there I will take my Golf clubs.

How does Cypress compare or what is there to do and how are the pools????

Thanks,

We were at the Fairfield last August and totally enjoyed our stay. While we spent most of our time at WDW, we did spend a day or two hanging around the resort. The have a club house with movies and games at night and they would have pool games for the kids at the main pool during the day. Place was kept very clean and we had arrived there after Hurricane Charley so they were cleaning up trees and bushes, etc. - but beware the mosquitos at night! There was no manned security gate though but we never did find out if it was because of damage from the hurricane or not. We had a two bedroom condo which the furniture was a little dated but totally adequate for the price we got from Skyauction. Housekeeping arrived almost immediately when I called to advise that the coffee maker wasn't working. Also, it's not too far from a Wal-Mart. Would I stay there again? Yes, but just trying for something a little more in between Universal and WDW. Sorry, but have never been to Orange Lake so can't compare the two but hopefully the above will help you.

Me again - I just noticed you wanted to know more about the pools. There was two, one Main pool and one smaller one. No slides or fountains. But there were hot tubs. Very well kept and like I said they had games for the kids to play in the pool and rubber tubes available to float on if you wanted. Towels you had to bring from your room.

If you need to know anything else, just ask.

Heard decent things and want to hang out a few days. Appreciate a Canadian view......
