UPS and Amazon comes through! Anyone waiting for delivery?

I realized on Tuesday that I never got my son the thing he wanted most - "UP". I ordered it at Amazon, with no expectations of getting it for xmas, and got confirmation that it would ship on 12/28

DH brought in the mail yesterday and said "did you order something else from Amazon?" Son of a gun - UP had come already!!!

I am even more in love with Amazon now

Why do people, who you know are not waiting due to money issues, wait till the last minute? Then they get angry at the delivery service because of the delays due to weather.

I understand what you are saying. DS's birthday is tomorrow and one aunt always waits until after Christmas and then can't find what she was going to get. No kidding, everything is picked over.

DH ordered kindle for me on sat dec 19th when they were running the 2 day shipping for free promo. he used my MIL credit card so I would have no idea (im a snoop worse than our 7 yr old). My MIL is so not computer literate so he walked her through the online purchase over the phone evrything was all set ready to go. so wednesday (the delivery date ) comes and no package! My DH is totally confused. Calls his mom she checks her email (which she never does of course) and whats there an email from 2 days ago from amazon.com saying that there was a problem with the purchase because she put the wrong exp date! OH NO!!! DH is totally stressing at this point! This is at like 8:00pm on wednesday the 23nd. so he goes online and finds out that they now have the 1 day shipping promo! Phew but still he figures he is gonna have to give me a picture of the kindle for my xmas gift. Nope the Kindle arrived at 1:00pm the next day!!!! Amazing service! I heart amazon!!!!!

I don't order from third party sellers on Amazon - if it's not shipping directly from Amazon, I don't bother. On the few occasions when I have had problems with Amazon, it's invariably with an order from one of their third party suppliers.

Me too! Mine got rescheduled to be delivered on 29th Another package from them went out the same day and got here two days ago!!!

Were they from the same area? Might have come from different fulfillment centers and encountered different weather.

Still waiting on mine with no end in site. Wasn't ordered last minute and wasn't OOS at the time of purchase (but is now). I am SOL. It isn't even for Christmas but my son's birthday in a couple of days but no chance of it arriving.

Several others on here had theirs shipped out Monday and arrived Wednesday. No idea how mine did not ship. I am more then disappointed and not happy about it at all! It will be a LONG time before I order from Amazon again. Had I received an email then I could have purchased it at the store! But I had no idea it wasn't arriving until I read a thread on here about it being backordered.

Nope, hasn't shipped. When they changed the shipping to 1 day express the ship date had now changed to the end of January. DS7 just opened a few of his gifts and asked about it and if it was here yet.

Ugh. Did the shipping change due to a change a rep made, or an automatic thing? Sounds like a rep goofed, or they changed the shipping to automatically make up for a short delay, but now things have gone crazy. Drat!

I waited all day(had to sign for it) for Fedex to deliver a Blue Ray player on the 23rd, never showed up. Their website had a strange message to the effect that it was undeliverable. On the 24th the Fedex guy showed up mid-afternoon....yup another day stuck at home with a million things to do. He told me that they can only be on the road for a certain number of hours then they have to stop delivering. Why don't they hire more drivers or have a runner on the truck the way UPS does?

My item should have been here in plenty of time. I paid for 3-5 day shipping. It still hasn't arrived.

I called the morning I read on here that it was backordered to see what was going on since it wasn't backordered when I ordered it. She didn't have much of an answer for me. I called again 2 days later when several had theirs shipped that Monday (day I called) and arrived then Tuesday or Wednesday.

The rep then changed the shipping to see what it said and that is when the ship date changed from March to January. It seems the ship date had been all over the place. Although the first estimated shipping date was early this month! I ordered it in plenty of time for it to be here. The biggest issue was if I had known I could have picked it up at the book store when I was there.

Yep, me too. No idea that it wouldn't be arriving for months!

I ordered K cups for my new Keurig coffee brewer and I hoped they would arrive before my guests who are big coffee, tea and hot chocolate drinkers. They arrived Christmas Eve afternoon. Thanks Keurig & FedEx ground!
