Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Okay Kathy, an update on my TR AND I managed to find the time to get all caught up on your TR! I just have one question.......why no Giraffe pictures??? :rolleyes1

Oh, and I'm very disappointed there were no Graceful Kathy on the Kidani slide pics..... :rotfl2:

Really loved doing the Jungle Cruise with Max for his first trip. So much fun. But I did ride it a night with Tom and Karin and our skipper was a little funnier. I agree, though, its one of those rides you hit when there isn't a terribly long line. So sad that BTMRR will be closed while we're there in February. :sad2:

Oh Old Key West!!:) I love the looks of it there. We have stopped there on ME on the way to POFQ. I am anxious to read about it in your updates.

I love the halloween decorations at the MK!!!! So pretty!

Amazing picture of the bride! :worship::worship::worship: I am very impressed.

Another fun update!

A - I hope your OKW studio is ready and you are at a nice location - oh well, the locations are all nice at OKW ;)

B - I really hope you got some pool time in ....... and I hope it's one of the quiet pools - so much more peaceful than the main one.

C - If you want "fresh" jokes at the Jungle Cruise, do it during EMH - they DO have another set of jokes and it depends on the CM which ones they crack - we only do it at night now - helps with the slighly "older" props there too! :rotfl2:

A - You'll find out in the next update

B - Also be found out in the next update :lmao::lmao::lmao: but I can tell you when we checked in at OKW the main pool was pretty empty

C - We have yet to do Jungle Cruise at night...I keep forgetting to do it.

Ok Kathy - I'm caught up with all the reading but my stupid computer at work blocks your pics so I can't see them. It's very strange because I could see the pics that Mary posted...and if I go to my own TRs I can see the pics I posted there...But I can't see your pics or the pics on Jen's TR either. I hate this!

I know I had 1000 things to comment on but here is what I remember:

1) I don't know if anyone has addressed the comment you made about the date on your pictures being off....BUT if they haven't.... If you have your camera set up in 24 hour time and didn't realize it and just put 1:00 when you programmed it...if it was 1pm, the camera recognizes that as 1am so it will be 12 hours off. So if it was 8:30pm on 9/22 when you took your pics (as an example) the camera though it was 8:30am on 9/23.

2) I had to go to All Ears and search for pics of the Lion King bathroom tiles since I couldn't see the ones you posted. I have to stay there now, just for that! Although I agree with you about the long walks! When we went to Kidani Village to visit a couple friends on our trip last year, we were really turned off by the long walk to and from their room! Although I would have camped out on their balcony if they let me! I agree that the walk at CSR is NOTHING compared to that or CBR. We actually ENJOY the walk from The Ranchos to El Centro...

3) We're going back to Crystal Palace on our trip in July...we haven't been in a couple years. I planned it though so that hopefully we can get an early ADR and get in before the park opens. We have a few first-timers going on our trip and I would love for their first experience to be an empty MK.

4) I was just telling Lumar last night how much I've grown to love Pina Coladas and here you are, sucking down on what? Your first day!? So jealous!

5) YAY for another trip AND for your 5 year anniversary! Congrats

Oh and PS - Tim, regarding the gift basket... that WAS nice ;)

ETA: Ok I THOUGHT I was caught up but then you posted about the start of your MK day! Can't wait to hear about OKW!!

Ali, thanks for the hint on the camera; I'll have Andy fix that.

The bathroom alone was worth the stay -- it was huge and I loved the tile.

I'm glad you are going to CP -- it is a winner.

I had several pina coladas this trip. And the weird thing -- I don't like rum or coconut. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks for your excitement for my additional trip and 5 year anniversary. right back at ya!

If I can stay awake, I'll do the OKW update after responses.

All caught up .... and here's what I remember (I know, I'm horrible):

That was really sweet of Tim's family to send you a lovely goody bag! :cloud9: What a great way to start your stay!

Totally love (and very jealous) of your view and all the animals you got to see! AKL looks absolutely amazing, and perhaps one day I'll get a chance to visit it!

Loved seeing the pics of you guys trying on hats. My favorite? Mark in the Kermit ears. (Wonder where I saw those ears before.... :goodvibes )

I love the pink flamingo with the Mickey ears! That's too adorable! Now I want one for my yard. :thumbsup2

So glad to hear you enjoyed EoS! It's one of our favorites! I'm hungry just thinking about it now. :lmao:

Also glad to see you had some great DIS meets! :cloud9:

It almost looks like the right-hand tower has grown. :rotfl2: You did say they were remodeling Cindy's castle, right? :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear more! :cloud9:

I have to tell you that when Mark tried on the Kermit ears, I immediately thought about your son. I was giggling and Mark asked me why; I told him that a cute little boy had tried those on from the DIS and he looked adorable, and Mark--not so much.

Loved EOS.

If they are going to keep screwing up my castle pictures, the least they could do is let me stay in the castle! :rolleyes1

What a nice morning in MK! The Jungle Cruise is a family favorite in my house. The elephants are my favorite, too! And you can't go to Adventureland without hopping in to see Captain Jack. I'm loving all of the fall decor in MK. It makes me really anxious for our trip next October! Hope y'alls room was all ready when y'all got there.

Thanks, Amanda. You are going to love all the fall decorations.

:rotfl2: I scrolled down to see just that first picture and I thought" Hmmmm I have one just like that right where those tikis are." Then I scrolled down a bit further to see that indeed that IS my picture and I busted out laughing. :rotfl2:

Too funny that I "thought" I recognized it.
You should at least sit through the new old Tiki room once again. It may or may not be almost restored to its original glory. :rolleyes1

Thanks again Pat for letting me use the picture.

I did go to the Tiki room later in the trip so review still to come.

When I saw that Adventureland picture I thought, Wow, that looks almost identical to Pats...Guess I was right! ;)

Good eyes, Jen.

I STILL have not done the Jungle Cruise! I keep saying I'm going to on every trip that I take, but we always skip it!

I can't wait to see your OKW pics, hope you got some pool time in! :cool1:

Jen, I can't believe you have never done the JC. You need to do it at least once...it is a classic (an outdated classic, but a classic nevertheless.

That's hilarious that you thought of my DS when he tried them on. :lmao::rotfl2:

Hey, I'd allow you to stay in the castle. But they won't give me permission to give permission. :lmao::lmao:

Hmmm... we usually start at Jungle Cruise too! Something to do with the fact that our first MK day is usually a mid-day arrival and it is the first thing we come to when we use that whole "go left at Disney" theory.:lmao:

Good luck at OKW... and with the monorail!

Isn't it funny how we all go "left?"

It was a fun morning!! And we got out of going to the Tiki Room.

We had so much fun. I did, at the end of the trip, go to the Tiki Room.

I just have one question.......why no Giraffe pictures??? :rolleyes1

Oh, and I'm very disappointed there were no Graceful Kathy on the Kidani slide pics..... :rotfl2:

If I ever get back to AKL, I'll take a giraffe picture for you, Marv.

Hey...I thought you were my friend. Are you insinuating that I am NOT graceful? :headache:

Really loved doing the Jungle Cruise with Max for his first trip. So much fun. But I did ride it a night with Tom and Karin and our skipper was a little funnier. I agree, though, its one of those rides you hit when there isn't a terribly long line. So sad that BTMRR will be closed while we're there in February. :sad2:

Glad that Max enjoyed JC. I'm sorry BTMRR is not open when we are there, but there are lots of other great attractions. And I have a feeling this means that the girls will make me go on Space Mountain. :scared1:

Oh Old Key West!!:) I love the looks of it there. We have stopped there on ME on the way to POFQ. I am anxious to read about it in your updates.

Update tomorrow (I keep getting kicked off the DIS again...I don't know if it is my connection or what?).

I love the halloween decorations at the MK!!!! So pretty!

Amazing picture of the bride! :worship::worship::worship: I am very impressed.

Another fun update!

MaryEllen, I love them too. I just love the vibrant colors.

I was surprised the bride turned out without a flash. I must have caught it at just the right time.

Love the pictures of WDW with the Halloween decor. This is the first year in seven years we aren't there, in fact, I SHOULD be there right now! :sad1:

Can't wait to read about your OKW experience, we always loved it there and never wanted to leave. Of course we never want to leave any resort at WDW!

I want to stay at BLT for the views and the pool, but do agree it looks like an office building from the outside. I am weird, I like my moderates and the Downtown Disney DVC's.

Hope the monorail didn't poop out on you! I prefer the ferry as well.

Replies and hopefully an update tonight.

But I did want to announce the winner of the Contest as I finally sat down and tallied up the scores (I will post the answers later as well). I did give points to everyone for their 50's Prime Time answers because we didn't go and I thoght it only fair.

The top five were:

Marvali -- 32 points
Jenbear123 -- 29.5 points

Tie:
that's nice -- 28 points
shocky 5 -- 28 points

annmarieda -- 27 points
FauntleroyFAN07 - 26 points

Thanks everyone for participating.

:woohoo: I don't even remember how I answered...but I did way better than I would have thought I would. :goodvibes

Great pics of Jungle Cruise Kathy and I agree in that it is a great ride.

Lol at the screaming comment on BTMRR!

Love the pics of the Halloween decor on the way out.

:woohoo: Wow! We were really close in points! :thumbsup2 I find myself trying to remember how I answered questions you asked as I read through your TR.

I am amazed at the fall decorations at MK. The pictures you took are great... just really makes me want to figure out how we can go sometime in the fall to visit!! Could be tricky with our crazy fall schedules... but in about 11 years... we might could pull that off! :rotfl: Who knows... we might be taking grandkids by then... :goodvibes

Great end to a great morning! I love how Cayley changed the screaming rule:lmao: She does crack me up!

Cayley is a hoot! She comes up with some great stuff!

I am going to post the answers at some point (maybe that will be my job tonight...post the answers for the day of questions to coordinate with the updates I have thus far.

It sounds like you had a great morning at MK. :goodvibes I missed the JC this trip. :guilty:

It was a great morning. We probably would have skipped JC ourselves, but that is what the girls picked since it is what we approached first.

Great pics of Jungle Cruise Kathy and I agree in that it is a great ride.

Lol at the screaming comment on BTMRR!

Love the pics of the Halloween decor on the way out.

Well, I won't have to wonder if I can scream on it in January because it will be closed. :sad2:

All caught up!

Betsy, glad you are caught up. I can't wait to read your TR.

It is so hard with kids and school to be abl eto go at times you'd like to go. We always did October when the kids were not in school, then it was June and then it was July for baseball (don't ever want to do that again).

Okay, everyone...I've been stalling on an update because my Photopass CD was shipped on Friday. I hope to have it today or tomorrow (I got Express delivery) and will do an update then. If I have time tonight, I will post the Contest answers for the first 2 days.

That Cayley is a hoot! First she says you can't scream then changes her mind mid=ride.

The Halloween decorations are so pretty. I wish we could go to WDW during each holiday just so I could see the decorations.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't checked in since Friday and your TR has only grown by 1 page! I thought for sure there was going to be another 34 pages to read through! :lmao:

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :thumbsup2

Good morning Kathy. I'm doing a quick disboard check because my inlaws are coming in today for ten days and my time will be sadly limited.:sad1:

Okey dokey, on to your update!

Well, poo:headache:! I though for sure you'd be heading for, well, Pooh! But you hung a left and went to the Jungle Cruise. Loved the pic of Mark's excitement and his cute floppy Eyeore ears! I'm glad the girls enjoyed it, we actually love it but it does have a lot to do with the kind of skipper you get. Our last one was hilarious! She was this little tiny southern thing and had a very sarcastic sense of humor (remind you of anyone??). As we disembarked her boat, she yelled "hurry up and get out NOW." Then she apologized for her lack of southern manners and rephrased it to "hurry up and get out now y'all!"

Ah, Jack Sparrow. Swoon! Isn't it uncanny how much the fake one looks like the real one?? We really like this show and my oldest DD12 was chosen to participate last time, she got to duel the first mate and then blushed like crazy when Captain Jack put his arm around her and told her she did a "savvy" job! Wait a minute, did you see the show or ride the ride? I can't recall now! Either way, both are good!

We are dying to see the new HM queue. It's such a fun ride, isn't it? It's a real family fav for us. Last time the ride stopped for about ten minutes and we were stuck in the attic scene! DD8 was a little unhappy about that.

Oh my! Cayley is hilarious! No screaming on BTMRR. Too adorable! What a cutie pie. No wonder you were so excited to meet back up with them.:thumbsup2

Love the fall decorations at the MK. There's something about all that orange that just makes it pop, right? I love it. Though it might have something to do with the fall being my favorite time of year.

Looking forward to your OKW update, I really don't know much about that resort at all. And I'm going to say that you and Mr. Mark were able to score some pool time too.:goodvibes
