upgrading WDW tickets

I have a hopper pass for a 3-9 yr old. I want to upgrade it to an adult pass. How do I do this and does it cost to do the upgrade? We're going back 02-13 and we just got back from WDW over Thnksgiving. Thanks for the help!!

That depends.

If the pass is unused, you will have to have an upgrade done. The way an upgrade works: You will be credited Disney's gate price for the ticket (that is, gate price from the year you bought the ticket). The new Magic Your Way ticket you'll purchase must be, at a minimum, configured exactly as your Park Hopper is. (For example: if you have a 4 day park hopper pass, you will have to have a 4 day base ticket with park hopping and non-expiration. You can add more days, or the premium option - but you have to have park-hopping and non-expiration on a 4 day ticket at a minimum). There is no additional charge for this. You will however have to pay the price difference between the child's ticket and a new adult ticket.

If the pass has been used, you'll need the child - who is now, by Disney admission standards, an adult - with you so they can verify the date of the pass and age of the child make sense. (ie: a pass bought in 2002 being used by a 17 year old in 2005 wouldn't add up). They will convert the child's ticket to a new adult ticket. Everything that was on the child's ticket will be converted to an adult ticket.
