upgrading to a hopper?

I have 5 day one park per day tickets.
I'm thinking maybe I should have got hoppers, but not too sure.
We mainly focus on Disneyland and have 4 days there and 1 at DCA, it's just we find more to do at DL however the only day we have for DCA is a Saturday and I'm guessing from previous experience it is busier on weekends - should I get Genie? Can I add Genie anytime? Will I need it for all of my 5 days? Can I get it for just the days we want it?

sorry for all the questions. Just when you've been over 9 times they change all of this and you then go back to knowing nothing again.

I always get a hopper, but that's just me, I like the option of going to the other park. As for Genie you can get it for just one day, you don't have to have it on your whole ticket. So you could just use it on that Saturday if you want. You purchase it once you scan into the park.

Just FYI, if you already purchased your ticket it’s not easy to upgrade to a park hopper. It must be done at the ticket booth (or if that isn’t possible, you have to request to refund the original ticket and purchase a new one; refunds can take weeks to process to your credit card).

When you upgrade, you lose any associate park reservations so you’ll need to rebook them all. Depending on when your visit is and reservation availability, this could be problematic.
