Hiya

Ive booked to stay in santa fe for 2 nights in Feb, booked directly with Disney, ive paid my deposit, and the remaining balance is due on the 12th Dec.

But ive recently come into a bit of extra money due to a family relation leaving me some money, so am thinking of upgrading all the way up to Disneyland hotel!!:cool1: . I no if will be a lot extra

What i'm wondering is...is it possible to upgrade hotels?, even though ive paid my deposit for santa fe, and not paid the remaining money yet?

Hope u can help? :goodvibes

Yes you should be able to do this. Just phone up Disney and ask to change your booking :)

Ohh so u can do this...will i need to pay an extra deposit aswell?. Should i do it now (in nxt few weeks), or when im due to pay my remaining balance?

Thanks for the help!:thumbsup2

You can do it either way I believe.

Jan/Feb are the most reasonable times for DLH (hence my staying there!! I just couldnt say no!) so yay for you!!!

:cool1: :cool1:
So they won't mind then?. I feel a bit bad messing them around, but i am giving them more money!!.lol

I have recieved a confirmaion email a few weeks ago, so will they just send me a new one?

They will be very happy to change the hotel for you, it won't be a problem and lots of people do it.

Just phone them up, if you've only paid the minimum deposit for the Santa Fe, you will need to pay the minimum deposit for the DLH, and the rest, as you would have anyway, 60 days before you travel.

You will get another email confirming your new hotel booking.

And congratulations on the windfall :goodvibes

Hi, I did this too. I had booked SL and paid the deposit and then phoned to upgrade to the DLH. There was no problem and they sent me a new confirmation email. I had to pay a new deposit (about £30). The upgrade cost £320 for 3 nights in January. They were very happy to upgrade me. Good luck!

Upgrade cost was £320!, thats good isn't it!, was that for 2 people? :)

LOL. No that was for 5 of us! 2 adults and 3 children. My original cost for SL (including half board plus - £156) was £820. I kept the halfboard plus and the cost to upgrade to a standard room was £320 - total £1140.

Wow so if that was the upgrade price for 5 ppl thats really good, so it would be alot less for 2 then wouldn't it!

If i can reember correctly my total price for my trip at the min with santa fe is £485 for 2 ppl with eurostar, park tickets ect, in feb. So how much do u think i'll be looking at?

God knows! What I did was I got an online quote on Disney.co.uk to check the difference. You should be able to do that now. January is a much cheaper time of year and perhaps that's why the upgrade was cheap (ish). Plus, kids go free at that time of year... The other thing is to ring up in the morning and get a quote - there's no obligation and I didn't immediately upgrade. I asked everyone on here if I should do it!

It probably wont be any different as you pay per room, not per person for disney hotels when you book direct.

Ohhh i'm sooo excited!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much everyone!...it will give me something to look forward to doing after work!.lol

:cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :cheer2:

It probably wont be any different as you pay per room, not per person for disney hotels when you book direct.

Ohh thats interesting, so how come when you get a quote on there website, for 2 people 2nights/3 days park, eurostar, tickets ect, for santa fe it is alot cheaper than a quote i got on there for the Disneyland hotel?
:)

Because it is not 100% true that you pay per room and not per person. You pay per person if you book with Disney direct. And also if you book via an agency.

And because the Santa Fee is a cheap hotel and the Disneyland Hotel is an expensive hotel.

If you book your Disney stay and you book let's say 2 nights and 3 days including park tickets.

Then you get a price of e.g.

Santa Fee 1 person in one room ~400€
Santa Fee 2 persons in one room ~200€ (each) (=400€ per room)
Santa Fee 3 persons in one room ~130€ (each) (=400€ per room)

Sequioa Lodge 1 person in one room ~600€
Sequioa Lodge 2 persons in one room ~300€ (each) (=600€ per room)
Sequioa Lodge 3 persons in one room ~200€ (each)

Disneyland Hotel 1 person in one room ~1200€
Disneyland Hotel 2 persons in one room ~600€ (each) (=1200€ per room)
Disneyland Hotel 3 persons in one room ~400€ (each)

These are only rough examples and not real prices from Disney. But I hope you understand what I mean.

Disney will get the same amount for one night for a single room no matter if there are 2 quests in it or only one. That’s why it is always cheaper to stay with 4 adults in one room than to book only one room for one adult.

And there is also a reason why JOOLZ1910 "only" paid 300Pounds for her update. Because it is only for 2 adults and 1 child. Two children are staying free anyway. They are staying free at the Santa Fee and also at the Disneyland Hotel.
And you should also keep in mind that the price for the Eurostar will not increase!

Let's say you have to pay for the Santa Fee

600€ for two aldult (200€ for Eurostar and 400€ for the Santa Fee for 2)

then the difference to the Disneyland Hotel is only the hotel price difference)

1400€ for two adults (200€ for Eurostar and 1200€ for the Disneyland Hotel 2)

And also the price for the halfboard plus did not change when Joolz1910 did her upgrade.

I hope that makes more sence? ;)

Yep thats a great help thank you!!:goodvibes :thumbsup2

I'm trying to ring Disney direct now...if only i could get through!.lol
