Upgrading Current 2 day tickets to CA Resident 3 day tickets

Hi everyone,

I have friends going next week that have 2 day 1 park per day tickets and they want to upgrade to the new CA Resident offer 3 day , 1 park per day tickets. From what I can figure out they can buy the new CA resident tickets and then how do they get the refund on the 2 day tickets they already have? Can they do it over the phone or do they have to wait until they get there and do it at the ticket booths. I'm hoping they can do it ahead of time in case park reservations sell out. The new tickets will cost more than there current tickets. Has anyone done this? How? Thanks!

They can upgrade their current 2 day/1 park tickets at the ticket booth at the Esplanade, you can't do it over the phone or website. Watch this video, Mondo from Five Fires YouTube channel covers this process in detail...

Thanks @Matrixleos. Well, I just looked and one of the days they need is already sold out so I guess they won't be upgrading anyway. Are people buying the new tickets online and then asking for the refund once they get there? Maybe if more tickets are released for their day they can do that.

Tell them to upgrade to the 3 Day CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket. They have park reservations for Park Hoppers available, the calendar you're looking at is for 1 park per day reservations.

Can they buy the tickets online now, and then request a refund at the ticket booths when they go? Or, do they have to buy the tickets (upgrade) at the ticket booths? Thank you!
