Upgrading cake with Escape package

Hi everyone,

I am currently planning an Escape wedding and have fallen in love with a wedding cake I saw on here which is apparently called 'Coral and Shells' which is usually three tiers (I cant post a link to the one I mean as I have just joined, but its on the first page of the main cakes thread!)

I was wondering if anyone would know roughly how much it would cost to upgrade to have a two tier version of this cake instead of the standard Escape wedding cake? We definitely only need a two tier as there will only be six of us in total so even that will probably be too much! lol

It will depend on the design. Send a picture to your planner, and s/he should be able to get you a price.

Only your planner and the pastry chef can get you an exact price, but if it helps, the 3-tier Coral & Shells cake costs $9.50/slice plus $100 for the topper, and it serves 75. A 2-tier cake will serve 50, so that's $475 + $100 for the topper minus whatever they decide to give you as credit for the Escape Cake—usually it's about $200. So maybe $375?

Again, this is just a ballpark figure—you may be able to lower the price by asking for less intricate decorations or having it done in buttercream instead of fondant (if that's even a possibility... the intricacy may require fondant).

ooooh thats really useful because thats what we want to do. I am also having an eeek moment that they want $75 just to stamp the design in a different pattern!
