Upgrading Buy 2 Get 2 days free promo tickets to AP's

I'm trying to figure out what tickets or AP's to purchase for an upcoming 6/24 - 6/28 stay, followed by a 7/31 - 8/3 stay. We would like to go to Volcano Bay in June, and maybe again in August. I'm getting a little overwhelmed though with all of the options! A couple of questions:

1. What value would we get for the buy 2 get 2 free tickets for UCT? Would it be the gate price of a 4 day ticket, the price we paid UCT, or something else?
2. If we buy 3 park promo tickets from UCT, go to VB, and then upgrade to AP's, would we only be able to upgrade to Preferred or Premier AP's because VB is blacked out on Seasonal and Preferred AP's for late June?
3. Are the before 4 pm blackouts still in effect for the Power and Preferred passes for VB, even though the park closes as 5 pm?

The 2 free days you receive on the ticket deal, have no monetary value when you upgrade to an AP
