Upgrading at Port

Does anyone out there have a list or an idea of how much the charges are to upgrade at check in? I am interested in going from an 11 to an 8...I know I have seen on these boards somewhere that folks checking in have "peeked" at the list of charges.

Don't know what your price will be. BUT if there's an upgrade available, it will be less expensive than doing it now.

If it is available, plan on about 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost of upgrading now. (You can look up an 8 and an 11 on the DCL web site and note the difference).

The biggest thing is that you can't plan on an upgrade being available. If you MUST have the 8, you need to change your booking now. If you will be happy in an 11 but would like to upgrade, good luck! Frequently, they don't have upgrades available when you board.

Also recommend getting to the port early and going directly to the supervisor's desk where the upgrades are handled. We paid around $600 for 2 of us to upgrade from an 11 to a 9 on the 10 day. thought it was a bargain.

Don't forget to check again - late (just before the all-aboard). A free upgrade might be available...

It is for a 7 day...this is our 4th cruise on the Magic...I have upgraded before at Port...know all the details of how....just did not know how much...last time I did an 11 to a 6...was about $600...now I was wondering about an 11 to an 8...i never heard of anyone doing it last minute for free....Wow!!

Sorry, I didn't think to say the length of cruise for our upgrade....it was a 4 day that we upgraded from cat 11 to cat 6 for $600 (3 people)

I was just thinking about that last minute upgrade for free....what exactly would you say to get something like that? i can not imagine...i would love to know....have you done it?
