Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question, how much more do I have to pay to upgrade my Air miles 2 day park to park tickets. I tired calling Universal, but they could not give me an answer. Advised that I had to wait to get to the parks. I would like to budget for it ahead of time. We're thinking about upgrading our Air Miles 2 Park to Park tickets to either the 4 day park to park tickets or an PREFERRED annual pass. Could some one please help me with how much more I would have to pay to upgrade to those 2 options.

Thanks in Advance !

If I understand correctly, this is how it works:

If the tickets have a CASH VALUE, you will pay the difference in price between either the cash value and the price of the annual pass, or between the current price of an equitable ticket and the price of an annual pass.

If the tickets have NO cash value, you might be out of luck.

I have no personal experience with this, but I have seen many discussions about it here on the boards and on other boards, and this seems to be the most common explanation given....

I think damo knows about this
I remember damo answered some question about it before

Someone wake damo up!

I've seen a few posts about this too. From what I've read you will get the normal gate price for your tickets as a credit toward the AP. Another with no experience but I've read that several people have done with air miles tickets.

Crossing my fingers for OP. I know I have seen some people saying that SOME bonus/free/reward/etc tickets are NOT upgradeable...

Damo answered me earlier in the month that they were indeed upgradeable. Beyond that, I don't know the exact upgrade prices but like a previous poster mentioned, just calculate the difference between the cash value of the 2 day and the ticket you plan to upgrade to. We upgraded three day PTP tickets to Power Passes last year and it was really cheap. I want to say something like $20 total for all four of us.

Thanks for all the feed back guys. One other question, has anyone had any luck on upgrading their 4 day park to park tickets to the power pass on the last day of use. Our scenario we'll be in Orlando this year in July so can't get the power passes as that's the black out period. Can we use the regular 4 day park to park tickets for our visit dates in July and then before we leave the park on the last day upgrade them to the power pass as we will probably be coming back to Orlando again in Novemeber. When we come back those dates are blacked out. Would definitely save a lot of money as we could get 2 trips of tickets for the cost of one. Can tickets be upgraded on the last day of visit?

Lately it seems that the only tickets that aren't upgradeable are comp tickets and tickets with shared revenue such as the flex ticket and 3 park pass. Heavily discounted tickets such as those with the USSSA are also not upgradeable. Loyalty and third party tickets seem to all upgradeable be lately.

I'm not sure about Military tickets. Perhaps someone could chime in about that.

We upgraded our tickets to power passes on the way out of the park on our last day, so that's no problem.
However, if your your November trip dates are blacked out you wouldn't be able to use the power passes. Or am I misreading your post?

sorry typo on my end i meant to say in November there seem to be no black out dates so we could use the power pass. When you upgraded your passes Pigletto was it just a straight swap out since the 4 day park to park tickets are listed as the same price as the power passes?

Not pigletto but go thru the gate before you upgrade to the power pass

Using the tickets once will reflect the current cost of your passes

Some peeps bought their passes before the rate increase
So going they the ticket gate updates those prices

It should be a wash since gate price of the ticket is the same as the AP price.

I'm having a hard time finding the answer to this this last statement. Anybody know if the military tickets can be upgraded to annual passes for Universal?

Call UO direct for that help

If a person wants the MIL discount, is needs do be done by phone
Or it was that way one year ago

I've already pre-purchased the tickets...they are a special Military Salute ticket and require military ID to be shown at the gates with the pre-paid voucher to get the actual 3-day tickets. I'm not worried too much about it, just wondering if others had insight. I'm sure worst case they will apply the cost I paid for my 3-day ticket towards an annual pass, since I have to buy at least one since I'm using a room with a passholder discount. The deal on these tickets was just too good to pass up though.

Coming back here to answer a question that others may have had about upgrading military salute tickets. We bought them from a DoD office at work and they were $155 each for 3 day P2P passes. A great value! I got a voucher that I had to take to a ticket booth at the front gate of the park (these could not be redeemed at our Universal Resort Portofino Bay) and I showed a military ID to get our tickets. Each ticket was clearly marked Military promotion on them so several times we would show them and Universal employees would then thank my DH for his sevice.

Anyway on the last day I went to customer service to inquire about upgrading and while I did upgrade mine to a Power Pass I had to pay the difference between my ticket and the price of the pass...in other words I only got credit for the price I paid for my ticket $155 and NOT the regular gate price of a 3-day P2P pass. This was a significant cost but because our hotel was booked on an APH rate I wanted to make sure I had an AP to show them just in case. For the record they never asked but I still wanted to make sure I had it to show. Plus now if we do want to make another trip in the next year I can get those rates again...and only have to get tickets for the rest of the group and not myself.
