Upgrading a ticket bought at lower prices

Family of six planning a trip in December of this year, and want to take advantage of buying our tickets now from getawaytoday or ares or similar to take advantage of the 2024 prices still available for the next few days.

We are not sure if we will be going for 3, 4, or 5 days - might be a gametime decision due to a few unknowns regarding work and school schedules.

If we buy this ticket now from getawaytoday:
3-DAY DISNEYLAND® PARK HOPPER® E-TICKETS WITH LIGHTNING LANE - $545

and decide in the next few months (or even after we have entered the park) to add two more days to extend to a 5-DAY ticket, would we pay

$651-$545 - the difference between the 2024 5-DAY and the 2024 3-DAY tickets = $106

or

$776-$545 - the difference between the 2025 5-DAY and the 2024 3-DAY tickets = $231


or

$776-$601 - the difference between the 2025 5-DAY and the 2025 3-DAY tickets = $175

(2024 ticket prices above based on currently available getawaytoday prices. 2025 prices above based on newly published disneyland.com prices)

Anyone run into this before?

I am pretty sure you would pay the difference on the current ticket price not the old.

You will pay the difference between what you actually paid during original purchase and current gate price if you upgrade the tickets.

You are probably better off extending/upgrading when you get to the parks since reservations are no longer needed. If you end up cancelling for any reason you do retain the cash value of your tickets but just have more money sitting in a "drawer" until you go again. The price is what it is so no need to stress over it.
