Upgrading a 1 day MYW to AP?

Hi...

I was planning to upgrade my 1 day MYW base ticket to an AP this weekend. I've read a lot of accounts of people doing this and found this on allearsnet.com:

"I have heard that I can upgrade my MYW ticket to an AP or PAP and get full credit for the original purchase price even after I have used a few days admission. Is this true?

Yes it is. If you decide that you want to upgrade it to an AP/PAP, you will get full credit for the price of the ticket towards the AP/PAP. Expiring MYW tickets must be upgraded within 14 days of first use. MYW tickets with the no expiration option on them can me upgraded at any time. In all cases, the AP/PAP will be backdated to the date the hopper pass was first used. Tickets purchased prior to MYW tickets can still be upgraded but must be completely unused to do so. But beware: If you get a MYW ticket with the Water Park Fun & More option and use one of the WPF&M admissions before doing this, you will only be allowed to upgrade to a PAP."

I just read a thread on the Dining Plan board that a person wasn't allowed to do this.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to upgrade my ticket to an AP. The account on the other thread doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me between what I have read here and allearsnet.com.

I posted this over in the other thread but I'll post it here to to spread the info. This is my personal experience on the matter but others may have other experiences.

I upgraded my 8 day MYW with Park Hoppers to an AP on Sept 9th at the EPCOT guest relations. The card had on it my room key and free dining credits plus the MYW ticket. They had no problem with removing the MYW ticket part and leaving the room key and dining credits on the card.

Maybe it's because I went to guest relations before I used the card for admission?
