Paul mentioned on a recent DIS DVC show that there are all sorts of upgrades being given during this time of low occupancy. We'll be in BLT for the first time in a few weeks. How does one request an upgrade?

You don’t. If you ask for it, they will expect you to pay for it by contacting MS to be charged the points.

DVC has never been given upgrades because it’s a timeshare and pretty full. I can see why it’s being done because it probably allows them to leave rooms empty for a night in between guests.

While I have read some reports of it happening, I don’t think it’s that widespread.

It's more like people being moved from hotels that aren't open to a DVC resort and getting a one bedroom instead of a hotel room. Cash reservations maybe. Points, not likely.

Just don't ASK for it. You might be surprised. On another board, someone mentioned renting one of those last minute deals for a Boardwalk Studio for $9/point and when she checked in (online, got the room number, didn't check any other information), found out she had been upgraded to a 1 BR (it was only 2 nights, though)

We had a garden/pool studio at Boardwalk booked for one night last Saturday and were upgraded to a 1 BR. Officially spoiled now. Must buy more points, lol.
