Upgrades/Changes last minute

Does anyone ever get upgrades? Or change their reservations last minute?

I'm going for a long weekend in October. Staying at AKL however I'm on the wait list for BWV. I'm torn, I really was hoping to stay at BWV.

Any suggestions on what to do?

October is hard to get at BWV. Are you still on the waitlist? I think you can stay on it until 7 days before. After that, you can keep calling.

Changes - Are you talking about Wait List coming through at the last minute?

Do you mean an upgrade from a studio (or whatever size room you are booked in) to a larger room at another resort? Thinking that the other resort is an upgrade.

You are going at one of the buziest times of the year F&W at EPCOT, therefor BWV and BCV are usually booked up ahead of time.

Last minute changes are difficult. Plus if you use fewer points, your left over points will become holding points and expire at the end of the use year. If you didn't waitlist BWV, there is no way to even get BWV. Like the others have said, the Epcot DVC resorts get booked up early for Food & Wine Festival. Even waitlisting won't guarantee you get it. We've waitlisted twice an neither waitlist come through.

DVC doesn't give free upgrades unless the villa you reserved has to be taken out of service for maintenance or something similar.

We booked BWV 9 months out for arrival mid-October. We are still waitlisted for the first 3 days. Sorry to say that I dont think your chances (or mine) are very good.

So are you saying AKV is a "downgrade" from BWV????? I'd say AKV is an upgrade already from BWV! I am NOT a fan of BWV. Sure it has a great location, but there is absolutely nothing else I like about it.

If you are already on the waitlist, that is about all you can do other than call each day to see if you can snag a BWV room. You don't say what size villa you have booked, and you also don't say if that is what are hoping for in an "upgrade". I'm not sure what you mean by upgrade, but as others have stated, you will get exactly what you booked unless something is wrong with the unit you were supposed to have.
