Upgraded to Loews Gold with Fan Club rate

I stayed at the RPR this past July using the Fan Club rate. I didn't even book through Loews--booked with Universal Vacations. I was VERY surprised when I received a letter and Loews Gold card today!! I thought only rack rate or AAA rate qualified for Loews status.

Great! I guess they're finally bending a little on the "qualified" stay thing. Last year when I booked through Univ. Vac., I had to send copies of confirm. stuff to Loew's in order to get upgraded to
gold. This year I made sure to book w/AAA disc. in order for the stay to count. They really make it hard to keep up with from vacation to vacation!

I have earned mine thru AP rates, FL res rates & Ent Card rates, but when I went to use it on an AP for my free upgrade, you aren't allowed. So unless you are going to pay rack rate or AAA rate, you more than likely will not be allowed to use the Gold Status (unless you get a very nice customer service rep)
