After 3 years of being on the QSDP I finally convinced DH to let us try the DDP and OMG it was sooo worth it. So with lightsabers in hand we started out for May 26-June 2. The cast of characters for our trip included myself, DH, DD that is 12 so she is on the adult plan, and DD who turned 8 in the middle of our trip. Let me just say, SORRY there are no pics but the food was terrific. BTW DH LOVED the DDP and we will be staying on it from now on. :cool1:

Our first night we ate at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge's Kidani Village.
It was AMAZING and we will def be going back in the future!!!
I ordered the Tandooori Shrimp w the basmati rice. It was sooo yummy and spicy, which I love spicy food.
DH ordered the sustainable catch. It was flounder with shrimp and scallops on veggies. He realy enjoyed it too.
DH 12 ordered the steak and potatoes. All I can say is WOW!!! It was amazing and by far the best tasting steak the entire trip. We all had to nibble on it.
DD 7 had grilled chicken breast w greenbeans and 5 grain rice and really enjoyed it too.
For dessert DH and I both had the rice pudding and LOVED it!
DD 12 had the banana kulfi sundae and just about licked the plate clean
DD 7 had the mango sorbet w fruit and loved it too.
Again this place was AMAZING for one table credit.

AKL even has hubby now convinced (thanks to me) we need to dump flying so we can stay delux next year, so I think my jedi mind tricks worked better than I thought they would.

ON Sunday we ate at Mama Melrose. It was ok, but nothing special. We only chose it b/c DD 12 wanted to do fantasmic and we knew this would guarantee good seating (front row getting wet seating). With the package you get an appetizer, entree and dessert which is alot of food.
DH and I split the antipasto which is assorted meats and cheeses and veggies and it was really good. But of course we love the more gourmet cheeses.
DD 12 ordered the ceaser salad and DD 7 got the green salad.
For the main meal DH got Chicken Campanelle. He said was weak and he had had better.
I ordered the Charred steak and 5 cheese macaroni. The meat was good but the mac and cheese was weak also.
DD 12 ordered the Carne D' Italia Flatbread and it tasted really good. Too much pizza for her.
DD 7 ordered the cheese pizza and ate ll of it and some of sisters.
With this being the Fantasmic package we were given a dessert sampler of Panna Cotta ( pretty yucky) , Chocolate Cannoli Cake (very good), and Amaretto Cheesecake (also Yummy)
This one we will probably not do again.

On Monday (Memorial Day) we ventured to Coral Reef.
The scenery is amazing and so was our waiter Art. He even showed DD's where the hidden mickey in the restaurant was that isn't even in the hidden mickey guide.
DH, DD 12, and myself all ordered the steak on a friends suggestion and it was good but it still had some living up to do battling against the one from Sanaa.
DD 7 ordered the grilled chicken w steamed broccoli. She loved it and then nibble on our steaks too. Yes she is a BIG eater for such a little girl.
For dessert DH ordered the Baileys mousse and said it was sonderful.
DD 12 and I both ordered the creme brulee bc we LOVE creme brulee and it was soo god.
DD 7 received a "surprise" dessert from Art which was a chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and chocolate sprinkles and licked the plate. So I guess she really liked it.
Coral Reef received 4 :thumbsup2 to a repeat trip too.

Tuesday we resort hopped to O'hana at the Poly for dinner.
It was another AMAZING meal. The bread is yummy, as was the salad. The chicken wings and dumplings were oh so good, and the noodles and veggies plate was too. The meat is the real star of the show here and we all loved it. The bread pudding is to die for and I sooo wanted more when the plate was empty. Our waiter did bring the girls a huge bowl of ice cream w sprinkles to share. I think he had an idea that they would not like the bread pudding. Both DD's got in on the hula lessons and coconut races and had a great time!
We will def be back here next year.

Wednesday morning we arrived at Magic Kingdom before park opening so I could get our 4 year progressive pic of hubby and the girls walking up an almost empty main street holding hands. We were heading to the same place we headed to 4 years ago, Crystal Palace for breakfast.
CP is the normal breakfast fair with an omelet station and the elusive Pooh toast. The pooh toast is so good DD 7 and I both ate 2 plates full along with mushroom and cheese omelets and all the other breakfast goodies.
Another will return for the great breakfast and character interaction and the opportunity to walk into the unopened park. We'll just make sure we don't do it the morning after eating at O'hana since we were were all still kind of full from the night before.

Thursday was DD's 8th birthday and she wanted to dine with the Princesses. We opted for Akershus over CRT bc it is only 1 table credit and it is the only dining event to see her fav mermaid Ariel in human form.
The cold starter buffet is great and has those gourmet meats and cheeses like I love, along with diff fish and salad options for everyone else.
DH ordered the grilled pork tenderloin and it was very, very good in his opinion.
I ordered the traditional Kjotkke (meatballs) and I loved it! Even with the lingonberry sauce on it, it was amazing.
DD 12 ordered the mickey ravioli bc nothing in the adult section was appetizing to her so they brought her a large bowl of it instead of the normal child size plate.
DD (now 8) ordered cheese pizza and ate it all. I know, I know, after her eating all this other stuff all week she wanted pizza. She does love her pizza.
After dinner we were given a dessert sampler of chocolate mousse, a flaky fruit pastery and traditional norweigen rice cream. The mousse and pastry were good but we all disliked the rice cream. DD 8 received her birthday cupcake and a card signed by all the princesses.
The character interaction here was amazing also and we will def go back.

For our last night on Friday we chose Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge (another hint to DH that we need to drive instead of fly so we can go deluxe, and yes it worked again)
We all ordered the skillet (all you care to eat, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, beans, and corn) and chocolate milkshakes for our drinks. If you order the skillet make sure you come hungry or you might explode. LOL! It was really good too and for this one we turned down the desserts b/c we had already eaten so much. Both DD's got involved in the pony races and loves running ketchup to tables. Our waitress Nickie was great too and really funny, throwing the straws at DD 12. DD 12 looked at her and said "Rudeness Much" Nickie just smiled and gave her a wink. The expression on DD 12's face was priceless.
We wold like to try WC again and try other items on the menu there too as they all looked yummy going to all the tables.

All in all we LOVED the DDP and are offically upgrading to it from QSDP from here on out. :woohoo::woohoo:

Great reviews! I have to get over to Sanaa, I keep hearing such wonderful reviews of this place. I agree the regular dining plan is much better than the quick service. This past trip we went deluxe and that is way too much food.
