Upgrade to Yacht Club or Boardwalk- which to choose?

You are correct. In my head I said 5 guests, but typed 5 adults. Thanks.
How long before they make this change to the other resorts where their standard rooms hold five? (Poly, Grand, Boardwalk) When did all this go down? I never thought of this cash grabbing move.

That won't happen as the vast majority of families of 5 won't pony up the $$ for 2 rooms at those resorts. Plus they recently added new rooms for families of 5. They've only done this where "free" food is involved; Free Dining and Club Level.

When did all this go down?

The YC/BC Club Level change was a year or so ago. The POR/CBR change is going into effect in 2020.

Wasn't that the whole reason with the trundle beds? Being able to put five in a moderate resort?

Wonder why the didn't institute this change at the BW CL rooms? Is the BW CL just not as popular perhaps?

This change of the CL rooms at the Yacht and Beach Club is just Disney playing dirty to me. Knowing full well these rooms will legally hold five, as they have in the past, but they wanted to get extra greedy and cut them down to four while still allowing five guest in the regular rooms. When Disney plays dirty like this I have very little sympathy for them when guest play just as dirty. Such as when guest will lie about the age of someone to get them in the room or to avoid an extra charge onto their room. None of this will ever really effect me as I just don't think I could or would want to put five people in a room like these. But I know there was probably of lot of families of five that did fancy the CL rooms at the Yacht and Beach. This just really rubs me the wrong way.

When did that take effect? We've stayed at YC a number of times as a party of 5, and several years ago we stayed club level. We are actually staying Port Orleans Riverside our next trip -- we can get two rooms there for about the same price as a single room at YC, and 2 rooms is a lot more comfortable with 3 adult kids.

We were booked at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I got a phone call today and they said they no longer had a room to accommodate our party (5 adults). I had read that they were having issues with the Murphy beds, some I’m thinking maybe that’s why?
Whatever the reason we are truly grateful for the rare upgrade- our only shot at a deluxe resort lol!
Wow, super nice upgrade...that's awesome and yes YC for sure.

Took effect last year. My son has 3 children and has always stayed at the Beach Club, club level. This March we are all at the Boardwalk Inn. I am happy because BWI is my favorite! Even the deluxe rooms at the BC no longer come with club access. My son does have a deluxe room booked at the BW.

Thanks. Weird change. We liked club level when we stayed but didn't really think it worth the extra cost because we spent most mornings/evenings at the parks and most afternoons at the pool, so didn't use club level perks that much. But surprised to see Disney do away with allowing 5 adults. Wonder if that's something they'll slowly phase in everywhere . . .

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. The bean counters will be counting.

I am thinking that five will still be allowed at the Yacht and Beach Club in the regular rooms, just not the rooms where the food is an amenity, right?

Correct. They only made this change to the CL rooms about a year ago.

Like I said, this will never effect me really, but it just screams greed to a point where I honestly never thought Disney would go.
