Upgrade to PBH Club?

We are staying at PBH the 1st -4th and I received an email saying we would get an upgrade but we're not sure to what yet. My dilema is my kids want me to upgrade to club so we can use the new pool cue and case they got me for Father's Day. What is a game of pool worth a day? I'm not going over $50!

What type of room are you booked in now? it could go standard to deluxe, or garden view to bayview.

I'm booked garden but have never stayed in a garden room. We have always received an upgrade and this time the worst case would be a deluxe.

We're going to ask what it will be to upgrade to either club or deluxe at check in on Monday. We're booked in a standard garden view room, which I've never stayed in anything but deluxe.

We didn't get any email from Portofino Bay and we're only 4 days out. We didn't book through the Loew's site though, we got a great package deal on the universal site.

PBH is certainly more reasonable to upgrade at Club. We were the 2 idiots who paid $100/more per night to upgrade at RPR. We'd have missed club too much if we didn't. Still, we in no way came in even close to eating our $100 day worth of food between the 2 of us. Maybe in beers. Not in food.

Yes, me too! Although, at RPR we ALWAYS got something extra besides our LF welcome gift delivered to the room. At HRH we got a nicely located room, but no extra gift. And, they are always extra nice to us when we call Star Services.

ozziewags, the "1" next to the "A" for adult or "C" for child on your room key means that you are one of the hotel's VIPs. Don't ask how you get it (no one really knows) or what it gets you (because it doesn't get you much), but it's kind of a joke that even though it doesn't mean much, I get PO'd when we don't have it.

Some day, I'm going to get up the nerve to ask someone in the know what the "1" really gets you.

If you are Plat and paid a qualifying rate (which I am guessing you did since you got the suite upgrade in advance), you should have the "1." If you do and you ask someone at the front desk or a manager what it means and what it gets you and report back on here, I'll give you a dollar.

I'm in! PBH upgraded to West wing top floor Villa Suite! We all have 1's. I asked all of the club staff what that meant and they called. It means you are a VIP. If it does then why didn't the Club staff know? They thought it meant Mgr. meet and greet, only. I'll likely get a card from Paul and maybe some fruit and the damn Italian music CD.
We stayed last night at the Omni and made a little fuss that the 3 PM check in time was 3:50 so they gave us a cert. for $100 off dinner. We had 12 oz. Pro cut filet mignons!

Excellent, MF! Tell me, did you get all that from your 2-night free cert? I can't believe some of the things that the PBH does for their VIPs.

We never got a manager meet and greet at RPR or HRH when we've had the "1." We didn't get squat at HRH. I mean we did have Nicki's name and number should we need anything during our stay, but if you remember, I had lots of trouble getting a hold of Nicki pre-stay and we didn't really need anything while we were there, so I didn't bother.

What did they wind up charging you to upgrade to Club, or did they comp that too since you're a VIP Big Shot?!

I used the 2 day stay certificate that I won on an auction and I added another night with APH at$199 then upgraded to club for $60 at check in. You got to get Mike to give PBH another shot. We have over 1200 square feet and three balconies that have tables and chairs. Concierge said we will be able to see the fireworks from our room.
