Is there a benefit to upgrading MYW tickets from undercover tourist at the park? I don't understand this bridging thing. It is a $250 difference between MYW and Park Hoppers at UT for 5 people. Isn't it about $68/person at the gate?
In addition to Disney tickets sold retail at their ticket booths and online, Disney also sells these same tickets wholesale to third party resellers, to The Disney Store, and to Disney World resorts (WDTC) to be used for resort packages. The third party resellers (such as UCT, AAA) market these tickets themselves and add their own mark-up. Their retail charge is less than Disney retail price. Is there a benefit to upgrading MYW tickets from undercover tourist at the park? I don't understand this bridging thing. We've used it on days we leave AK b/c the park is only open until 5 (usually) and we have time to visit another park the same day. We've used it when visiting one park, but we want to catch Fantasmic at HS or IllumiNations at EP or Wishes at MK, and these events are only running on certain days of the week. We've used PH to have a nice dinner or character meal at EP World Showcase although we were visiting another park that day. We've used PH because it rained and our park visit was shortened. We could make up the partial missed park visit by squeezing it in with a different park visit on another day.But the upgrade cost would be $68 per person for an upgrade to Park hopper right after we enter park? I am just so undecided about park hopper.

You don't mention how many days are on your passes. This is how the pricing works when you upgrade at the gate...
Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket is a flat rate of $50 ($53.25 with tax) for add-on to a 1 day Magic Kingdom ticket; $58 ($61.77 with tax) for add-on to a 1 day Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom ticket; $50 ($53.25 with tax) for add-on to 2 or 3 day tickets; or $64 ($68.16 with tax) for add-on to any 4-day or longer ticket. This works out to a little over $9 per day on a seven-day ticket.
Upgrading at the park is a set price for any 4 day or longer, where it looks like UT doesn't offer that benefit?
I bought the 5 day MYW pass for 3 adults and 2 children. If I had bought the park hopper, it would have been about $280 more. But when I upgrade to park hoppers at Disney, it will cost me $340.
But as suggested above, if it turns out you don't need the hopper feature, you saved $280. So it is kind of like you are risking $60 (the possible additional cost of getting the park hoppers at the parks) to possibly save $280.
