Upgrade or two visits

Hi all!

Happy New Year - I hope everyone had a fab time and all is well?!

I have a dilemma! DBF and I are going back to DLH in May this year as part of our birthday festivities... and anyone on here who knows me will know how I get carried away with things and find myself booking lord only knows what in the heat of the moment

So, I've been pricing things up and made a few calls - and I am now seriously considering booking a Castle Club Park View room for our trip to make it that extra special... The difference in price is basically the cost of the trip

So, my question is - what would you do if you were given the choice. Book it as part of a once in a lifetime extra special treat and really make the most of the time there (we would spend time enjoying the balcony with some wine watching Disney Dreams, soaking in the atmosphere etc) - or save the money and just book to go again later in the year (which to be fair, we probably would anyway...).

HELP!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends on how much time would you spend in the room/hotel is it worth paying the extra? How long are you going for, if I was only staying a couple of nights I personally wouldn't pay that much more as most of the time would be spent in the parks, however if the trip was longer then I may consider it.

Also depends if you can afford it without it being a stretch

Do both! Resistance is futile! Asked a kind of similar question last week - DLH or two trip which is now 2 trips including DLH after I sought and received DIS advice . Happy booking and take loads of photos xxx

you two are terrible!!! And know me too well!! I just need help justifying it to myself that's all lol.

Plus - the big thing that has worried me is they advised me that a balcony is not guaranteed with a park view room however they will put it as a request when I book... I'd be absolutely gutted if I paid all that money and never ended up with a balcony park view!! The uncertainty is what's scaring me here

If you can afford it, then treat yourselves. We work all year so might as well have the best holidays we can.

Although not being guaranteed a balcony at those sort of prices is pretty rubbish.

This is my philosophy exactly Torsie - it would just be such a torment to have a park view and not be able to open a window/door to enjoy soaking it all in!!

I just wanted to give an update as I am bouncing around the office at the moment super excitedly!

I decided to bite the bullet and I called Disney and booked our Castle Club PARK VIEW (!!!!) Room!! I put a request in for a room with a balcony so at least I have asked, and now can hope for the best!!

I am beyond excited right now - it has been an absolute dream to be able to goto sleep looking out to the castle!!

I will be taking more photos than I've ever taken in my entire life.....combined.... ever!! haha don't you worry - I will tell you everything!

I'm going to leave it as a bit of a surprise for DBF - the plan is to print out the reservation and wrap it up as a birthday present (which is one week before we go, in May).
